Mine was produced on 2/22 (started on 2/9), and I'm still waiting for it to be shipped (3/10, 4/5, 4/26, 5/17 and now 5/20). I have a poker of excuses from the dealer…
I told them that if it goes beyond 5/20 to be shipped, I want my deposit back, they can eat the car. In Europe now the stupidity of the hype of asking for insane prices is gone. They are now below MSRP
I don't believe Porsche HQ typically tells the dealers why the cars are delayed, but I could be wrong. Not sure why you want to punish the dealer for something out of their control.
Was supposed to take delivery of my PTS car today, and unfortunately now have a headlight error. Dealer confirmed it needs a new headlight. Won't be able to get it until next week. After waiting years, what's another couple of days. Better caught then, than the day after delivery. Not the first I've heard of headlight issues either.
Update: New headlight installed, and scheduled to take delivery on Monday!
I don't believe Porsche HQ typically tells the dealers why the cars are delayed, but I could be wrong. Not sure why you want to punish the dealer for something out of their control.
Because they didn't ever bother to pick the phone and ask what is actually happening with a 3-month delay for no reason, when I'm well aware that other 4RS with a similar spec built 2 months later (mine is basic so the parts shortage BS is not valid anymore) has been already shipped to the same country (so no especial transport BS either). Similar to the dozens that get shipped to US a are built after mine. Mine is WS and parking sensor, so simple as f*ck, not PST no stripe no exclusive manufactur

I don't believe they are provided the information even if they call. They really don't have control over it. You think they should, I get it, but the reality is they don't. And not for nothing, but if you act towards them the way you are writing here why would they want to help you out?

Of course they can...I've seen it done for a friend that had a SRS more than 2 months waiting for transport.

you have complained and complained about things outside of peoples control and frankly are not important. The car will arrive when the car arrives.

If you drink the kool-aid that is fine, I don't. Anyway, I'm past the point of complaining, I just want the dealer to give my deposit back if the car is not shipped this month.
I buy whatever I want, if I'm going to spend 200k I will complain. I want that specific car (4RS) that is why I buy it, I don't care about Porsche as a brand in general
And yes, If I'm gonna pay, I'm entitled to complain ...or at least to expect an open bi-directional channel of communication.
I would say, too many conformist people with low standards ...not entitled people
