Default Satin Aurum wheels - wheel weight color options - black is bad......

So I was pretty disappointed in Porsche not having a better alternative than black weights for their Aurum wheels. They look pretty afterthoughtish. So I did a little research and found some guys using Testors paint pen to paint them. Not a perfect match, but certainly an improvement if you ask me.

I painted the front wheel weights and the other pic is of a rear wheel.

Very nice, good job. I have done the same on several vehicles in the past and most recently on a Harley I got..."attention to detail" is important (to at least us).

Great idea.

I was going to suggest nail polish.

On a related note, anyone else find this amount of wheel weight to be an issue? Should the tire be spun and rebalanced? I figure at 5g per weight, there's probably 100g total weight on there, which is almost 4oz.

I just checked mine.

The least weights that I have is 6.

I have some that is as much as what you have.

I have PS4S BTW.

IMO, I would let sleeping dogs lie. By taking the tire/ weights off, you run the risk of scratching something. If it drives fine, I would leave it. The cure could be worse than the problem.

Thanks for comparing yours. I am going to let sleeping dogs lie. I've got a few other things that need attention, including a fairly large washer fluid leak, scratches on carbon fiber sill, and a stitching defect on my shifter boot (it appears that the bobbin thread ran out before the last two stitches and the yellow thread has come loose), that I'd rather focus on. But those 20 wheel weights are going to use up a lot of my Testors gold paint!

You're right about that. You know they looked at these Aurum wheels with black weights and said man, that looks like crap. Oh well.

Looks good. But what about the valve caps?

I am guessing silver weight for silver wheels.

Black for black/ (platinum)/ aurum?
