Wrinkles in dash leather
I don't THINK it was there when I picked it up, but maybe... Anyone seen anything like this? Suggestions? (for context, this car was picked up one month ago)

Boom! Dealer ordered a new dash, no questions asked or hassle. But, they predict due to deviated stitching and the current supply situation, a year plus on receipt. Which is actually fine with me. I get a brand new dash on a year+ old car; I'd take that for a dollar!
Thanks for everyone's help and insights.

I don't recall anything like that on our prior cars with full leather. Thanks to your post, I'll make a slow video of all the leather on delivery for future comparison.

Check with the dealer. The problem with warranty with those parts is the extent of replacement needed. They may be able to improve the appearance using a detailing service.

It may be easier than you think to get this covered. Uphill battle are mechanical or electrical issues that don't generate a code or visible malfunction. I got the cracked PDK replaced without a hiccup, $1500 cost covered by warranty.

Given the age of the car, it was probably there from the factory and either passed QC or it was overlooked. I would take it to the dealer soon as possible. They may give you the runaround, check other cars with full leather as an argument.

The guy who did my PPF said that is the glue behind the leather, loosening up due to heat. Show the dealer. Might be able to massage it back some if I heat it back up.
Okay, the interior has seen direct sun maybe two or three times now. This is epically lame for a new car.

@Adrift , do you happen to have any good interior photos from delivery day, when it was still on the showroom floor?
One thing I had forgotten about, since I sold my 981 last summer, but putting a fountain drink there on a hot day produces condensation that tends to land in that general area. Happened to me this weekend - got a pop from McDonald's and had the top down...ended up with condensation in multiple places in that area. Wonder if that could be a culprit as well?

My first Cayman had this issue also. It's quite common IMO. Leather can only be twisted so many ways and be expected to be perfectly smooth.
If you try to heat it and repair, be aware the leather may take on a different sheen when being worked. It's a risk not worth taking for me. Just ignore and enjoy the car!

Seems like an overly simplistic view jumping conclusions the dash is delaminating from heat when it could be a number of things.
Most likely it was just there and you missed it. Everyone has defects in their leather, some big, some minor so I'd see what a leather/interior repair guy can do; if they're good they're usually magicians. I wouldn't want the dash swapped out to trade a medium defect for other defects + creaks.

Have them install a new dash if they cant rework the problem . If they give you any BS contact Porsche and have a factory rep inspect it .
It does suck since its right in front of your face .

There's no way you could have possibly missed that on delivery. I'm not saying that it's not a factory defect, but it couldn't have looked like that when you first got in and you didn't notice it.
*edit* ...and, yes, epically lame for a six figure car.

By exposing your car to sunlight, it voids the Porsche warranty. It's all there in the fine print. Sorry. I don't make the rules.
