@drcollie Amazingly helpful post; MUCH appreciated.

@LexVan I should file a claim through PCNA before the dealer rejects me (assuming they do)? Deep thanks for the support offer; I hope it doesn’t come to that. The prospect of the mess this could be has me pretty apprehensive/bummed, tbh.

The support on rennlist between members is something special.

Yeah, I think you're right. If you decide to go the warranty route, and have any issues with the dealership, THEN file a claim with PCNA and reach out to me for an additional contact person at the c-level in Atlanta.

Mine is also a workmanship issue, and not a defect in the leather. My dealer acknowledged the problem, but told me Porsche would not fix it under warranty since it is within spec for leather.

Boom! Dealer ordered a new dash, no questions asked or hassle. But, they predict due to deviated stitching and the current supply situation, a year plus on receipt. Which is actually fine with me. I get a brand new dash on a year+ old car; I'd take that for a dollar!

Thanks for everyone's help and insights.

I have a leather dash GT4 on the way so I was disappointed to see this, I am happy for you to see a good outcome though. Good on your dealer, enjoy the Spyder!

Congrats on the new dash, but do you really want the dealer ripping out and reinstalling a dash for something so minor? I agree, the ill fitting leather would bother me, but based on my dealership experiences, I would cut my losses. YMMV.

OP should take the new replacement dash and store it somewhere climate controlled as insurance in case/when the dash starts to peel away from the windshield.

My car also has some creasing/wrinkling in that exact spot (although not quite as obvious as yours). I noticed it a few weeks after delivery but assumed it was considered normal imperfections in the leather.

Glad to hear that they willing to replace it, but how extensive is the work required? The dash seems a lot more involved than simply replacing some trim so I would definitely be worried about the technicians not doing a careful job and creating more problems (or rattles) down the road.
