Spyder "RS".. I think there is a greater chance these will be drivers' cars.
People keep saying this, but is this an American thing or something?
Dealers here in Australia are very determined to meet Porsche AG mandate these cars go to people who drive them, and allocate them accordingly. Not based on how many SUVs you buy each yeah or an ADM…

I see more GT and GT RS products out on the track than any other high end car. Lamborghini owners however, well…

Pretty sure no such PAG “mandate” exists….Australia or elsewhere.

The spyder is pretty tight (no perceivable flex) with 309lb - ft of torque already. The gt3 motor isn’t that much more torque (346). I think it’ll be fine.

Well at the very common denomination AP has said countless times these cars are for people who drive them and that’s where they want them to go to. Perhaps mandate the wrong word, but mandates can also be informal…

US franchise model allows dealers to do whatever they want once they have bought their stock from Germany, and so they behave accordingly, even if it goes against the brand.

Yeah, US business model does suck. Order in the GM or their friends’ names from factory, then sell them for crazy margins and all kinds of scam. Capitalism at its best!

If these cars were actually ending up in enthusiasts hands without market manipulation by dealers then the prices would not go sky high as they are right now. It’s more of a pissing contest of whom can pay the most ADM in US.

Porsche Latin America does request no ADM....they don't want the dealer to compete with the government taxes on cars!
Seriously, our dealer does try to strike a good balance on GT cars and allocate the majority to repeat, enthusiast customers.

Sure as do many, many dealers in the US.

Key words in above are “request” and “try”.

My point was PAG doesn’t have a mandate in place with it’s worldwide network that requires them to sell to “enthusiasts”.

True....that's where the good dealers come in. Luckily for me the local one is one of those that focus on long term business relationships.

Both scenarios have their strengths, imo. The “good dealer” is still going to sell rare cars to their best clients, first. At least adm dealers give the non-regulars some chance; money levels that playing field, to some extent.

Also true....you have to hope for more than 2-3 allocation of X model. Just happened with the Sport Classic

Main Australian dealerships are owned by PAG. Different model to the US. I got a GT4RS allocation and have never purchased a new Porsche, however have owned quite a few used ones and am a regular at the track. I was also told of this "mandate" from PAG for the cars to go to enthusiasts who will track them.

Let's all wait here for the first US customer to express a similar story, shall we?

Based on what I’ve read here of the US allocation process **** show we could be waiting a while
