I'd take the Spyder RS or even a regular Spyder, but having a convertible in the Northeast makes about as much sense as having an in ground pool.

Hey, I'm building an in-ground Pool right now so I guess I need a SPYDER RS.

My sister lives in NY and they have an in ground pool. They actually just opened it up recently. I see plenty of convertible Porsches rolling around on Long Island all year round

Disagree. I love having a convertible on the mountain roads of NH and VT. Simply epic drives up here. I spec'd my Spyder with heated seats and heated steering wheel and I am good to go.

I've owned an S2000 convertible and never liked the open top aspect, which is why I went with the GT4 and not Spyder.

For me it gets too cold so I have to bundle up, or blast the heat, or I have to worry about the sun so I have to make sure I have sunblock on my head or make sure I have a hat with sunglasses. Missing any one those items will be horrible. So hard top it is for me.

I am not sure if I should laugh or cry.

Great post/idea mojonito.

For me, would all depend on the manual transmission.

If the Spyder RS came in a manual, that’d be my first choice.

if not, I’d go track focused - PDK GT4RS

Funny. Just sold my GT3 back to the dealer for a GT4RS.

That makes us two......

Although a spyder r (less track focused) sounds like a more desirable car (MT, less unsightly aero vents/louvres, etc), I guess the easiest path is the 4rs clone as shown above, despite it being a compromised rs concept. If they are going full, legit rs, seems like it should get some sort of improved roll-over protection.

GT car is primarily about track enjoyment for me, so it’d be the GT4 RS.

I also like the idea that it’s loud on the inside and less so on the outside so I’d don’t have to worry about blowing sound at Laguna.

I love the top down driving experience and if the Spyder RS keeps that experience but let's me rev to 9,000rpm with the intake noise right by my ear, I'd be all for it. That sound must be so intoxicating in a drop top.

Now, if they mess up on the looks of the Spyder because of incorporating the intake, then of course I'd take the GT4 RS but sadly neither will be an option since the ADM are crazy at the moment. Too bad these two cars weren't available for purchase in June 2020 during the height of COVID purchase bail outs. It would have given me a better opportunity for MSRP or even a little lower ADM.
I personally would only be interested in opentop sports car with high power in a carbon monocoque tub. The McL 720s spyder and Alfa 4c spyder have no cowl shake at all with the carbon tub. I stayed away from any Ferrari mid engine convertible for this reason and will do so again with the Spyder RS.
