Default Demand orders.

When a dealer puts you on a waitlist for a car, are they supposed to create a demand order in Porsche's system at the same time?

Some do, some don’t.

On allocated GT products it doesn’t move the needle…dealers get what they get based largely on similar volume.

What did the dealer tell you? How many are on the list?

How a dealer goes through a list is another fun topic!

Yeah you should get a copy of the build sheet which has price, options and a field where it says Vehicle Status V070

I can attest from my experience that yes, I did get an allocation for a hard to get car after getting a "demand order". Up until my SA told me about the "Demand", I actually never heard about the term, and I wrote about the experience here. I think it means your SA is trying to do all they can for you.

I don't expect it to move the needle, but I would like to know that my deposit wasn't made just for smoke blown up my... I reached out to my SA and have not heard back.

This particular dealer keeps their list secret and won't disclose any information other than "You're on the list." At least having a demand order shows that something is being done.

Well it is a piece of paper you can staple your deposit receipt on.

Dealers dole out buildable allocations as they see fit. If they’re not disclosing any status/projections for you that is enlightening.

Thank you TXshaggy. Can you delete this thread, please? I just heard back from my SA, and it's all good.

Sounds like it worked out; good luck on an allocation!

If you have no objections I’d line to leave it open; perhaps help someone searching the forum in the future.

I have a V70 order for a GT4RS.

I'm hoping it means something, anything.

Where do you guys see this code? I don't have any sort of code on any of my paperwork. That being said my SA was very transparent with me and told me my deposit is not a guarantee of allocation and that when one comes in officially, then he'll let me know. Maybe due to that, he didn't bother putting down a code?

What kind of “paperwork” did you receive?

If you received a Porsche Build Sheet — Retail it has the V code status on it.

If the SA asked for my build code when I gave my deposit does this suggest I have a demand order?
If I have a demand order in the system, does that suggest the dealers list operates more like a queue rather than just giving allocations to whoever the GM thinks is prettiest?

I have a build sheet, just looked at it, and no V Code. I have an order number though, not sure if that means anything. That being said I know I don't have an allocation yet.

No and no, although I wish because I'm not that pretty.
