@APEXRaceParts i've pledged for a set since this wheels seem to fit well over my PCCBs. I was wondering about future availability.. will you continue making them after this run, or is it a limited one time production?
The reason why I ask is that this is my first time buying non-oem wheels, and I was wondering what happens if one of the wheels bends for whatever reason on the street for example, do I have to throw out the entire set, or is there a way to get another wheel if needed in the future?
Cheers!
These wheels will be added to the website sometime shortly after the Group Buy ends and will become a regular part of our inventory. On top of that, for the first two years after purchase the wheels are covered by our 50% replacement program. Be sure to check out our 50% replacement program video for all the details!

No plans at the moment but something we have been gauging the interest on. Shoot us a PM with your email and that you want a 19x8.5 VS-5RS for stock class and I will add you to the list of customers to notify should we ever make that wheel!

That's disappointing and somewhat strange. When Apex announced the VS-5RS, your website announcement had included 19x8.5" ET54 with Q2 2022 availability - which would be perfect for SCCA competition. But now that fitment has been removed from the planned product list...
I know there are not a massive number of people who do competitive events where 19x8.5" are required, like for SCCA time trial and autoX. But those of us who do need them for competition will typically pay any price to get what we need to be competitive legally, and we typically buy multiple sets of wheels. I've had as many as 4 sets of wheels and tires for my last competition car, prior to switching to the GT4. But now it's impossible to get what I need for competition without paying to have custom wheels made and waiting 3-4 months+ for them to be built for me...

Yeah, it is indeed disappointing. I hope Apex will step up pronto.
I got some 19" VS-5RS in Anthracite put on with Firestone Indy500 (going to be practicing some car control first) and they look amazing with Oslo Blue.
F: 19x9 w/ 245/40/19
R: 19x10.5 w/ 285/35/19
Tires are closest to OEM 20" in overall diameter and width.
You can get right about -3.0 on front camber with max shims and solid caster pucks. Don't even think about that much camber without the solid bushings or your caster will be way off. My 265s rubbed a bit so we added camber plates and all is good now. You should be ok with 245 tires. Just make sure your tires are centered in the wheel wells.

Thanks for the info,
I do have the solid caster pucks in place already and have actually backed the camber down from -2.5 or so to -1.9 due to tire wear (it turns out I don't push it hard enough for -2.5 camber , either that too much highway driving in a straight line )
So would that suggest aiming for the desired caster between 9d30' and 10d30' (stock spec)?
@APEX Race Parts Can you comment on the following scenario for the 718 Spyder:
Front Wheels: using the VS-5RS 20x9 ET50 with 245/35-20 with camber at -1.9 degrees, no camber plates, just shims?
I don't think it should matter but I also have RSS spherical end bearings like this:
I recall a number of comments about camber plates and wondered if using shims instead creates an issue with the clearance and the 9" wide front wheel.
Thanks!
Running a 245/35-20 on our 20x9" ET50 should be a direct fit, even with -1.9° of camber. The Chalk GT4 above is running this exact tire size in a Cup 2.
Camber plates are necessary when trying to fit as much tire under the front of a Cayman/Boxster as possible (or any strut front suspension Porsche). Our example of this is a 265/35-19 tire, which requires camber plates and a fine tuned alignment to get as much clearance as possible.

Brandon, thanks for weighing in on this, the GT4 above looks great with the VS-5RS wheels. Would you happen to know what alignment they are running up front?
Anthracite VS-5RS
19X9 fronts w/265/35-19
19X11 rears w/305/39-19
Falken RT660s
AP racing brakes
Front camber plates
TPC offset toe links
absolutely no rubbing.
Apex wheels are a Big Bang for the buck.

I am unsure of his exact alignment specs but from what I've found the GT4 should come with -1.3° of front camber from the factory so I would expect this car to be at least at that point if not more.
Wrong forum, but anyway - are you looking for making fitments for 2022+ (8Y) Audi RS3? The car has funky setup and bigger brakes than the previous generation. But with proper offset and design 18" wheels will fit - but AFAIK nothing currently on the market fits without spacers (spacers suck). Really great opportunity to make direct fit wheels, both 18" and 19". VS-5RS would be perfect.
I don't have the car yet, but I am already planning wheels, lol...
