Suncoast said Porsche AG wouldn’t give them an eta either when I ordered my parts, but they took about 6 weeks to get.

I am not sure it would help but I have a GT3 Black with Red stitched boot only (no ****) that I would let go cheap since it is missing a tab on the bottom.

Suncoast now has GT4RS PDK shift **** and boot. I ordered a set (Black/Arctic Grey) from a Canadian dealership (Back ordered/No ETA). And here is its part #: 982-713-120-A-P02, and for the plastic piece: 991-553-651-01-A05

Love it! Thanks for the intel. This will make the install a lot more straight forward and certainly less expensive!

Of course it only comes with grey or blue stitching. I'd still have to go the original 1K route to match the yellow.

I ordered my GT3 shifter parts in January from Suncoast and they arrived today.

Installation took about 2 hours for me. Like the OP, I struggled with removing the new **** from its base in order to change out the boot. The other PITA was getting the new 718 boot to properly fit into the new GT3 base. I could not be happier with the results though, and shifting the car like a manual adds a new dimension of fun when driving. Highly recomended!

The GT4 is not available with a leather ****, so you will need to go the expensive 2 part GT3 **** with a 718 manual boot. Here is the link to the leather GT3 **** from Suncoast:

And here is the 718 manual shift boot that I used:

Finally, don't forget the little trim piece:

The OP's instructions are very detailed and well written. Enjoy!

Thumbs up

Nothingman & The Pinkoboe, thank you for this detailed write-up and contributors like you make RL amazing.

I was following this ever since the 992 GT3 came out but had it off my radar for awhile, decided to give it another stab today.

You both made my day, I'm ordering parts and retrofitting it into a 991.1 3RS.

@Bob Z. where is that thread? I'm interested also on changing my GT3 manual shift **** for the new GT3 one and would like to know the specific details on which steps you had to do. Thanks! Never mind / found it!

Seach here, in the 991 Forum, or Google it - very easy to swap shift *****.

I finished the 992 PDK Shifter conversion on my GT4 and have a couple of extra notes.
  1. Removing the GT4 PDK shifter was a pain, so I used two large pieces of rubber between some grove joint pliers to twist the bottom of the shifter. Once it turned, it pulls off with just a little bit of pressure.
  2. Make sure you're careful removing the below collar from the GT3 shifter, as you'll need to reuse it to connect the GT4 shift boot to the GT3 **** (I broke one of the tabs, but it seems to work okay).

Love the results!!

This maybe obvious, but can you please explain how the new PDK **** attaches to the shifter rod in the car? I know on the existing PDK **** you twist the collar at the base and pull up. How does the new GT3 **** go on and off and end up secure since the leather boot covers the area where the old twist collar would be. Thanks.
