~3500 miles into mine and never thought "this is too loud"
Ive said this multiple times. Gt4rs is quieter than a convertible, take your pick of which one. But louder than a regular coupe. "Too loud for everyday use" is hyperbole....
^^ agreed. I think this is a similar debate as sofas/bucket seats. both are totally dailyable. None of these cars are really "daily's" but can certainly be used as them.

If I was going Spyder RS with little to no track I think I would do 18 ways. I got about 750 miles of track time this year and definitely appreciated the carbon buckets, hold much better than 18ways even without 4 point or 6 points. With 18ways my knee has a permanent BOSE tattoo!! 😁
I have not had the luxury of driving enough Porsches but the praise this car gets makes me wonder what all the fuss is about. I was pretty disappointed in the lack of push into the seat under acceleration. I think my 981 gt4 has more usable torque under 6k rpm. There's no question the 4RS would be a great track car but it just wasn't exciting enough at slower speeds to warrant the upgrade - 3x the price. For those saying the intake noise is too loud you are obviously shopping for the wrong car. The intake noise and throttle response are the cars highlights and don't see any negatives in that area. It's an RS after all.
This isn't a turbo car and they made the power delivery very "linear" as to not overwhelm the tires/suspension because it's a track car and smoothness is the main priority.
I have a 981 GT4 and the 4RS definitely does not have less torque than my 981 GT4. I paid 2x+ the cost of the 981 GT4 and I would do it again in a heartbeat for the 4RS. Actually considering selling the PTS 981 GT4 soon since I reach for the 4RS keys 99% of the time now.
For track work there is no comparison as the 4RS is in another league. I'd love to be able to have both so well played sir!
I understand that it's not a turbo car and wasn't expecting that type of power delivery.
I guess I expected a bigger step up going from the 981 to the 4RS and its crazy motor. The torque curves are actually very similar so maybe the PDK versus manual made the car seem easier to drive resulting in less low end grunt. I got adequate time in the 4RS back to back with my 981 GT4 and I just kept itching to get back into the raw 981 - call my old fashion but I think I need the manual.
Data point: Met a nice couple today at the track who have a 4RS which they got earlier this year. The car was new and already built. Dealer wanted $100k ADM for it, they negotiated and paid $70k ADM.
Seems like a lot, but the car does look great. If I get an MSRP allocation, I might just copy theirs.
