That's not it. Cars are hard to come by. Most showrooms are empty and by the reports I read this trend will on for another year and half. Taycans are sold out for the next six months. One dealer was told that if they wanted an additional dozen or so 911 cars from the factory (this was a special deal), the dealership would have to pay msrp for the cars. Some Toyota trucks have been selling for $20,000 over. With all this, the dealers will ask $50,000 or so for a RS.

IMHO you would have to be crazy to pay $20,000 over MSRP for a Toyota pickup or $50,000 for a RS, if your scenario surrounding the 911's is real then it only exists because impatient (or wealthy) people support the ADM situation.

CA is NVTS with their ADM on every mark. And NO, I call BS on PCNA telling a dealer that they would have to pay MSRP for additional allocations. Fake news galore.

Not to derail this, I believe prices will go up across the board. We are having 5% inflation, which might go up if the government increases its spending. And with everything else going on, I don’t see things going back to normal for awhile.

I think the best approach is a throwback, analogue Spyder RS:
- Manual transmission with shorter gear ratios
- NA Engine that revs to ~8,500 rpm
- Hydraulic steering
- Weight savings (lithium ion battery; fully forged wheels; carbon fiber trunk and frunk lids; delete satellite radio, headlight washers, sound symposer, optional radio delete...)
Since that equates to near-GT3 performance, I would be willing to pay near-GT3 price.

Hydraulic steering...talk dirty to me, baby.
Oh, and rear wheel steering.
