Yap, after a while the disappointment from the ED experience passed and I was left with the fact I got one of the very last manual Spyders, customized to my liking, that I got for a great price and it would be stupid to give that up. **** happens.
Trying to convince the wife to get a Macan so we can do ED again
Post up pics of your car!
Sorry to hear ED didn’t work out. Mine almost didn’t either - got cancelled 1 week before our trip but luckily reinstated after a lot of inquiries with PAG. I was also contemplating just selling the car after delivery if ED didn’t pan out. Ultimately in the end, it’s great to have been able to spec one to your heart’s desires given allocations were so scarce.
We also did a Macan S ED in 2022. It’s such a blast and still so much fun in a Macan. Highly recommend it if that’s an option for you and the Mrs.
Worst case, rent a Boxster or Cayman through Porsche Drive at Stuttgart. My brother did this for 7 days as he accompanied me during my Spyder ED trip. It’s a fantastic alternative and not that expensive - relatively speaking. The best part is you’re not worried about stone chips or any wear and tear

I am not belittling your experience, but I still think there is a difference.
I planned this trip for over 10 months and set my sights on this experience more than 4 years ago, long before I thought owning a Porsche, let alone something as special as a Spyder, was a reality. Then, on literally the very first hour of the trip (after the commute from Leipzig to the Alps), it was over. My wife and I were in the middle of nowhere, with heavy bags without wheels (because Spyder). It was 95 degrees outside. It was Saturday, so no one from PAG answered the phone, not even the emergency line. It was a long Labor Day weekend, so no one from PCNA was available either. Even when I eventually got hold of PAG, on Monday morning, 48 hours after this nightmare started, they had zero clue what to do. I literally had to hire a local lawyer to help me. It wasn't just the accident, or the fact that it ruined our trip - it was the uncertainty, not knowing what to do or what would happen. It was the fact that we had to ride with the towing truck to the nearest hotel because no taxi or Uber were available at that mountain. All of that combined just left a sour taste.
But I am not complaining. That motorcyclist could have easily killed himself on my Spyder. But somehow, magically, he was left without a scratch, and that’s the important part.
Regarding photos - car is disgusting at the moment, need to clean it first Last time it was cleaned was by me, over 4 months ago.

Wow! That sounds like an incredibly stressful time. I didn’t know you experienced all that, I thought I read your ED was cancelled at the last minute - must’ve mistaken it for someone else…
And ofcourse, that’s a significantly more troublesome situation than mine. So sorry to hear about that entire ordeal, I can’t imagine the feelings of disappointment after all that anticipation. In that scenario, I would’ve expected the emergency services to help. Really crappy on PAG’s part that they didn’t know what to do either.

Yap, I was shocked that I couldn't reach them, after about 50 minutes on the line I just gave up.
Eventually, the person who helped me was Derrek, the receptionist at Leipzig - he was amazing.
Don't have enough good things to say about this guy.
On the delivery day, for some reason, my car was delivered with a huge bolt in the rear tire. I only noticed that when we were about to leave Leipzig, around 7:30 PM.
Derrek was on his way home, but he stayed until around 10 PM to make sure everything is taken care of and only left when the car was ready, when we were ready to leave.

Damn, dude. That’s some really bad luck. Hopefully it’s all good and safe fun from here on out.
But I thought most P-car owners (except me) had unlimited funds (as evidenced by their current stables of 4+ cars cuz who wants to drive the same car on consecutive days!!)
Just got these for my GT4. Really annoying buffeting with only one window open at track. Even two windows are tough. Very discrete. Hope they help.

Installer did a good job but I've seen pics on here that seemed to have a better fit. Overall pretty happy with results and looking forward to see how it'll feel on track.

Silly, I know but relatively inexpensive on sale but I got a set of TI wheel bolts. The black OEM ones marr a little every time I swap the wheels and since I already have PCCBs and light weight forged wheels I figured a couple of oz less of unsprung weight won't hurt.
Not paying $600 either. Really just got them as Acer has them on sale for $240.
