Hmmm, I THINK my car may have entered production today. Notice the little red bar has progressed to Start Production, although the Estimated Date is Friday.
I just logged in and I’m seeing the same thing! Today is a good day.
Long time lurker and first time poster... I've been holding out as best as I could but finally registered to join in the fun and hand-wringing while I wait.
After years of dreaming the pandemic turned "someday maybe" into "now or never", and back in April 2021, I put a deposit down on a 718 Spyder with 8 people ahead of me in line at the dealership. Fast forward to December 2021 and I got my allocation and build slot. The car was originally going to be ready in early May '22, but like everyone has seen the dates have been moving around a bit and currently estimated to arrive in early June '22. Holding my breath this week since TYD says it's scheduled to start production on Friday the 25th and trying to make sense of the rumors regarding factory shutdowns in March... we shall see what the week brings.
Full spec is below but the highlights are 6-Spd, Chalk, Red Top, Classic Interior w/Chalk seatbelts, Satin Aurum wheels, Bucket Seats, PCCB with Black Calipers, PDLS+, and Burmeister. I'm having a heck of a time fully visualizing how all those colors are going to come together on the configurator because they are all just slightly off on my monitor, but the pictures I've seen of similar builds look great. We'll see how it turns out in person but it works in my head. There is another 718 Spyder that is en route to my dealership next month that is Black / Red / Red so I'll try to go see that in person when it comes in. Worst case scenario if the Satin Aurum clashes too much I'll trade them out for black wheels at some point.
I have seen that exact build (color, wheels, top, calipers) in person and it is out of this world. My chalk Spyder is at the Emden port so I've messed around with many, many different configurations of Chalk over the months/year.
Had I gotten a more favorable response from my wife to the classic interior I would have spec'd my car EXACTLY like you did (sans the full buckets because I wanted heated seats) because I love the Chalk with red top. But she didn't like the red dash top and I didn't absolutely 100% love it either, so I went with what's depicted below instead. But have no doubt, your car will be stunning just the way you built it. And you probably won't run across another unless you live in California or some other highly populated place.
If you don't mind me asking, what did your build MSRP out at? I'm at $131,940 without the Burmester, LWB and NAV that you configured.
