Given the wait we still have remaining, you may want to pick up a copy of the Illiad. Lol!

The video that AdamIsAdam posted above reminds me of when I visited the Port of Bayonne for an article I was writing for the BMW CCA. When I got to the deck where my car was about to be off-loaded it turned out the longshoreman who was assigned to drive my car down to it's initial point of rest couldn't drive a manual. Doh!

In those days quite a lot of prep work was performed at the VPC prior to releasing vehicles for shipment to the dealer.

That's JUST NUTS! I still think all kids/people should be taught to drive a stick just in case. I taught 4 boys to drive, 1 prefers a stick, one of the younger boys wants to resume lessons. But all four were taught and in an emergency, I feel like they could do it. (Like, dear old dad breaks a leg skiing and they have to drive home, or they are with a friend who had too much to drink and driving their manual and Uber are the only options (I realize that the chances of some other kid having a stick are slim, but it's my fantasy, I make the scenarios! lol).

BTW, The Felicity Ace is due in to Davisville at about 11:30pm TONIGHT! Unfortunately, the port workers are off tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday. Argh! So much for Porsche paying extra fuel charges to have the ship arrive ahead of schedule.

Agree completely on the need to learn to drive manual. When my kids got to that age --- if they took a look around ---- they would soon realize that manual trans is about all that is on offer around here. Among other things, manual transmissions teach (force?) new/young drivers to have better situational awareness.

If you are lucky US Customs will clear Felicity Ace tomorrow morning -- so the guys can get right to off-loading first thing Monday.

Put my deposit in today for a 2022 Spyder. Probably will end up as a 2023 when it’s all said and done. Going to be selling my 2008 997TT Cabrio when my build date gets closer.

Looking forward to the new Porsche experience as all my previous cars have been second hand. I have had many Boxsters in the past, most powerful one was a 2005 S with 280 hp so this will be a huge difference!

Congrats!

My Spyder was my first "new" Porsche too. At one point I figured I'd never buy a "new" one given how great the CPO program is - the previous 5 I'd purchased were all CPO.

But given this is a "forever car" for me... I opted to go for it. And I'll say... it was pretty sweet rolling it off the showroom floor I also got to be the one to peel off all the protective shipping tape My dealer did a good job making sure I got to take it all in!

Same here, first new one. But with used prices so insane, I sold my Cobra for a big profit and am getting my CGTS below MSRP, so this seemed like the time. Especially since this is the end of the ICE Cayman.

Thanks everyone. I have owned my Turbo for 3 years and will probably come out ahead on it, enough to pay for the Spyder. Surprised someone got below MSRP on a CGTS!

Here is my build, I may tweak it a bit.

Hello Everyone. I just put down my deposit on a Spyder and now the allocation game begins. It will be my first P car and I am hoping to do European delivery if covid does not completely mess it up. Here is my build. Any thoughts or recommendations?

I have been debating to do it or not. Not sure which one I like better yet. Unfortunately I have time.
