At least you have a Miami Blue GT4 pic, mine shows as a green boxster , LOL
Mine has finished production and sitting at port now waiting for a ship.
Mine started out as a green Boxster and morphed into a Shark Blue Cayman GTS 4.0 (the car that I ordered). It is a rendering straight out of the configurator and not a photo of my actual, or similar, car.
Car is sitting in Emden waiting to be loaded onto a ship, so we are in the same boat
Thanks,
Not knowing how these things work since I've never gotten in line for a car I couldn't at least order immediately with a down payment, my concerns were dealers could maybe see if I had a demand order in my name at other dealers and would drop me, since nothing firm is signed.
I have two more close-by dealers to contact, but two I've spoken to including the one where I have a demand order in sell for MSRP if the car is ordered. I expect few if any on lots will be MSRP.

As someone who finally got an allocation recently, I did have to pay some over, but to me I do no regret it. Buying a used one would have costed the same if not more then buying the new one with the adm I paid.

2 out of 3 local dealers I contacted offered MSRP to get on the list with a deposit. The 3rd who wanted ADM seemed disappointed I declined but "will get back to me".
Just got a text from the dealer with this photo... and saying they just moved it over to the service department for prep. Woohoo!!!
That's awesome! You were on the Bishu Highway yes? Can I ask where your dealership is compared to your arrival in Houston? I'm curious what your transport lead time was. I swear your car just got unloaded a few days ago. Congrats to you and I can't wait for you to take delivery!

Very excited for you!!! Dude, you will be blown away when you see it in person. Pictures do this color no justice. It is next level badassery in person....so much so it is somewhat worrisome how much attention it attracts. But if you're gonna be a bear, you may as well be a grizzly!!! I love the platinum wheels!!! I thought they might get "lost" but they look great!!!
I am thinking your dealer is shooting straight with you. If you are first in line, then go for it. I am willing to bet allocations will start dropping in the next month or two. My dealer did not ask for a deposit until the allocation was secured and I was V200. Good luck and hang in there!!!
Mine was refundable, but it's still hard to say how often you'd actually get an allocation. I got mine a few weeks after my demand order, that was back in March/April. I'd make sure what number you are in line, and do a search on the dealer to make sure they aren't farming for orders and stating that you're "#2 in line" when really you're the 5th person that is 2nd in line. That's pretty standard process for the Order Demand, I believe it just shows a certain level of commitment.
Alright so I placed the Order Demand and put the $2500 down, they seem to be pretty confident that they could secure one for me (they said spyder's are easier to get than gt4's due to higher demand for gt4's), we'll see I guess, if not the $2500 is refundable. I'm ok with waiting as long as it takes, I have my manual 997S to hold me over, sold my 981 GT4 already though.
My "brand ambassador" said I'd be first in line, not sure how true that is
I had them print out the build sheet and sign that they agreed to sell it for MSRP once it arrives.

You should be good, having it be refundable is always nice. Just before your build locks, as I believe it to be typical...or at least my dealer did, they will ask for the 10% down. There should be a lot more allocations coming this fall, but there are a lot of people out there that are looking.
I always wonder for those that are 5th, if they become discouraged, as it's well regarded to call to several places, put your name in many places. If several people are all on the same lists, it may not take long for you to be Ricky Bobby 1st lol...people will cancel their order, and natural selection sort of takes place in the market.
Just stay patient, it's a long process, and I haven't waited as long as some, and I've also waited longer than others (I'm looking at your perfect situation @StormRune ) I could never be comfortable with a build that I had to create in a day I don't think...or I'd be joining the Shark Blue folks!
Just heard back that I'll be picking up my aventurine Boxster GTS at the Los Angeles Experience Center on December 2nd. Anyone else picking up at the LA Center, or have any reviews or suggestions about getting the most out of the experience?
I wouldn't count on a huge influx of allocations right away. I work for an Audi Dealer and prior to 2021's chip shortage, we received an allocation of 40-120 cars per month to build, plus Audi would build their own cars and distribute them to dealers.
The past 3 months (August through October) have had ZERO allocations of any kind for the US market and some of the cars we ordered in the last allocation in July are showing estimated delivery of April 2022 or even worse, still don't have an ETA.
I thought I was the only one who switched like that. I was debating Base v S Boxster then ended up with a Cayman GTS 4.0. Go figure!
I don't think he was talking about a change in the car they ordered. What we were talking about was the car picture that the MyPorsche app. shows, which does not correlate to the actual car you ordered.
