Shark Blue is a beautiful color, no arguments there. The car already has plenty of pieces displaying it means business. With NACA ducts on the hood, the fender vents, and swan neck wing out back the car already looks menacing and has plenty of road presence. While I support the use of exotic materials to reduce weight, I have never been a fan of the exposed CF hood on any car, including on GT3 RS and GT2 RS. There's no need for additional exposed CF hood to shout 'look at me'. It's a bit too C&C for me... I strongly believe painted hood should be a $0 option with Weissach Pack.
Pretty simple solution to your big problem, buy a spare non WP hood, have it painted in your desired colour, swap it out.

When you decide to sell the car, you still have your WP hood, swap it back. Cheaper than any CXX option and someone who feels the same as you might buy that hood back off you.

Shark Blue story for today:

On my way to a Cars & Coffee with some friends on the highway. First car was a Chalk CGTS4.0, second car was my Shark Blue CGTS4.0, third car was a Chalk 2022 GT3, followed by a black 997 with a duck tail. Again, we were on the highway when a car full of people caught up to us from behind and came up to me, beeping and waving feverishly to give me the thumbs up. Just to me. Not anyone else. OVER A GT3!

Yup, Shark for the win.

As far as my knowledge goes standard GT4 RS hood is still CF, just painted and not exposed CF like in WP. So while it's quite 'simple' as you said, it is still an expensive solution. Here's a link to exposed CF one at $17k from suncoast (https://www.suncoastparts.com/produc...18rswhood.html), don't think the primered one will be much cheaper.

Straight from the horse's mouth: Front cover made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) in exterior color with black NACA air inlets for brake cooling https://www.porsche.com/internationa...cayman-gt4-rs/

Well even cheaper then. Spray the WP hood, should cost you less than $1000 from any decent paint shop. Expecting Porsche to cater for everyone's taste is asking a bit much IMO.

You'll still need to sand the clear coat on the exposed CF before priming and respraying. It will definitely cost you more than $1,000. Plus you need to take into consideration the depreciation due to respray for any future resale, since it won't be as factory spec anymore. I'm not asking for something that doesn't exist. It's already coming with painted CF hood on non-WP cars. Your argument makes no sense to me. Just saying it would be reasonable to be able to spec it as a $0 option without going CXX as there is no additional cost for Porsche to install a painted hood instead of exposed CF hood.

Except, you know that is not the way Porsche options work... take wheels on the Spyder, they already make 4 different colours, but you can't just request a different colour for free!

^^^ Also, wheel colors on the Spider are a $1290 option. Meanwhile, the same wheel color choices on the GT4 are only a $600 option or even FREE - for the EXACT SAME WHEELS!

The weird thing is you can't get a painted hood with Weissach for a fee even through CXX though. Which makes 0 sense. They offer a painted stripe for the price of a kidney I know a lot of the things Porsche makes no sense, but this one is mind boggling for me. Don't care for exposed CF hood or wing; but the CF engine cover, the CF air guide tubes (or whatever they're called), the CF little inlets on the sides all look fantastic. They're what makes the WP appealing for me personally. Well, there's no MT on the RS anyways, therefore I won't be buying one making this someone else's problem. So I won't post anything about it anymore... Logic and I are leaving the chat lol!

I agree on the lack of painted WP hood option, like has been an option on GT3rs. Kinda strange.
I was originally on the non-WP band camp, saving the $13k.

Changed my mind after seeing a GT4rs in person for 3 reasons:
1. Window air intakes look fantastic in carbon fiber; the matte black air intakes doesn't really match the window frame gloss black, results in a series of broken lines and planes.
2. Rear wing looks mega in carbon fiber.
3. Racetex dash looks special and cool.

The actual airbox in carbon fiber vs matte, I could take or leave, I think both look cool. Just having the airbox exposed and part of the in cab experience is fantastic.
The carbon fiber hood, I could take or leave; painted or some paint does look better.
But unpainted didn't detract enough from the 3 reasons above.

So thats just my opinion, clearly. And all aesthetic reasons. But seeing in person, pushed me in the direction to spend the extra $$$, to have points 1-3 on the car....
