Great thread everyone. I sold my 991.2 GT3 manual earlier this year and miss it tremendously. I am close to trying to get an allocation for a Spyder and am torn on Shark Blue, Silver Rims, and Speed Blue deviated sticking or Shark Blue, Aurum Rims and yellow stitching (which PCCB, yellow seat belts and sport chrono). I think the Aurum wheels could look incredible and more unique, but haven't seen them in person, especially with Shark Blue. Anyone have pics or order one like that?

What's everyone's feeling on Shark Blue paired with the Orange contrast stitching. I'd have gone for Lava Orange stitching but it's not offered on the Spyder.
Thanks!

On the wheels subject I frequently went back and forth on silver vs platinum. I thought Aurum looks pretty nice too on its own but took it out of contention since I didn't think it would work as well with the PCCB calipers. I ended up with platinum but find myself considering going with smoked brushed dark clear HREs eventually (I've had their brushed clear before and loved them - P101s).
It's harder to find photos of blue deviated stitching than I would have expected so if someone here has that to share I'd love to see it. These are some screenshots of the little snippets I saw in the Chris Harris GT3 video. It's hard to see in video but I'm thinking it will look much nicer when viewed in person.

The following are from the GT3 launch photo set via NetCarShow.com Great source as a one stop shop for press photos from all OEMs.
Re: Shark Blue seatbelts. They will be an option and can be spec'd for orders being built from Nov on, IIRC. Mine is a Nov build and will miss the window.

I can't fault your logic. I like the way Porsches look in white and it's actually not a super common color to pick (most 911s around here end up silver, black, or dark colors), but you're right it is very boring and it wouldn't stand out in a parking lot full of suvs. I'm reminded when the news did a story here on the local track giving track rides to old people in a retirement home. 90% of their shots were of a mexico blue gt3 even though there were a lot more expensive cars there and a lot more race car looking cars... just in boring colors.
I just went to VW and spent about 15 minutes looking at a Cornflower GTI outside. Shark blue is a lot lighter than the configurator makes it out to be. Personal pref, I think voodoo a bit better but I like it better than mexico. Also, when i rounded the corner out back looking for it it was like BAM!, there it is!.
I'd say this picture is probably the closest to how it looked in direct sunlight.

There seem to be a number of other manufacturers running similar blues to SB now (VW, Toyota, Lotus).

This is also why I switched my order from SB to GT Silver. I saw a VW in real life last week in Cornflower Blue and it was a shade too light for my tastes. I don't think it is as close to VB as photos depict in sunlight. I really prefer the darker blues such as Club Blau. Rekon a GT4 can carry SB better than a GTS. My advice would be to go and look at a VW Cornflower Blue car, for me it was a bit to 'pastel' in sunlight.

Too my eye the 718 lines/shadows become a bit hidden in SB too. Its a great colour, but for me this car is likely a long term proposition given the influx of EV's, hence a switched to boring, but classic silver. My current F80 M3 is Silverstone too, so double as boring

I wonder if they’ll make the door pulls available in Shark Blue too? Any intel on that? Right now I’m expecting mine to be gray.

That's not an accurate representation of SB. Suggest you go and have a look at it at a VW dealer if you can. Not saying SB isn't a great colour, but if you are expecting it to look that dark then you may be in for a surprise.

I am not expecting it to be that dark. In fact, I am glad it won't be. The GT3 renders the color well most likely. I was really just referring to the shine more than anything.
