It seems many of the other manufacturers have them in stock but Soul sold out I guess and needs to make more.

Agreed - I have their headers, high-flow cats and exhaust tips on the Targa GTS I recently sold...awesome quality and sound!

Soul OAP at Buttonwillow. I absolutely love this sound. Just make sure you use header wraps for heat protection.

I spoke with John Gaydos at Soul last week. He's telling me 6 weeks on the OAP's.

It is not detectable at visual inspection. If this modification bring problems, there will be many oem oap to sell on the net because many change for Soul, Akra or Cargraphic oap. I would like more feedback from different owners that did the gutt modification. Curiously i see no new info recently. It is probably my choice with Soul valve controller. What do you think?
The two main reasons not to do it are 1. You just ruined several thousand dollars of factory equipment (those buggers are EXPENSIVE from Porsche), and there's no going back if you have to swap back to stock for any reason...including if you just don't quite like the sound as sound is subjective. 2. Exhaust going into a big empty chamber, hitting a wall and then forcing it's way into two different flow paths is not in any way efficient. This is the same reason why gutting cats in headers is never an ideal scenario and is always outperformed by a smooth and appropriately designed merge collector.

On the flip side, the mod costs you nothing and nets you more sound...you just have to know going in that there is no going back and it won't perform as well as a dedicated delete pipe.

And that is still a good ETA on the delete pipes. We are rotating through approximately 3200hrs of fabrication and this does take time to get through our fabrication queue, it is a blessing and acurse haha. That said, the OAPs always have a chance of getting out quicker than expected and we do batch run them in big numbers. That said, we'd rather put ourselves in a position to underpromsie and overdeliver where possible as that's just good business practice

Quite true! For anyone interested, we do offer Jet Hot Ceramic Coatings on every millimeter of our Over Axle Pipes in various ratings of 1300 to 2500 degrees depending on budget.

fabspeed, soul, akra, others? Any pros and cons vs all of these?

any vendors there with a good shop in Houston Tx area that can put a deal + install together?

thanks
I appreciate you considering us in your search for OAPs. If you have any questions about them, please don't hesitate to ask as we are always happy to chat cars. My cell is 4848836197, and you can text/call me any time. As for shops in the Houston area, I can't recommend Modern Aircooled (Harris and Jordan) and Einar's Garage (Einar) enough. They are excellent shops and you're quite lucky to have Porsche Independents of that caliber so close to you. Give them a shout, and feel free to ask them about the SOUL experience. I'm also happy to introduce you to them if you'd like to PM me your contact information.

Best regards,
John Gaydos

+1 for reaching out to John @ SOUL directly, what a guy. When he says he's happy to chat cars, he really is happy to chat cars. I ran into an unrelated issue on my GTS 4.0 a few weeks ago and reached out to the first individual that came to mind, and that was John. Probably one of the better customer service / customer experiences I've ever had with any Company, let alone brands.

I got the SOUL pipes and had them ceramic coated at Jet-Hot. I am happy with the service and quality of both.
