Difference between the three you listed, at least, would be material (Akra = Ti, SOUL/Fabspeed = T304L Stainless), finish (Akra = wrapped in heat shielding, SOUL = signature satin finish, Fabspeed = brushed finish), and cost, where the Akrapovic titanium pipes are significantly more expensive than either SOUL or Fabspeed OAPs.

We carry both SOUL and Akrapovic at Momentum Worx, and I'd be happy to refer you to an installer in Texas if desired. Feel free to reach out with any questions.
I’ll play the stupid question game! Just got my 718 GT4 so I have not done any real digging.

Boy I sure miss the sound of my 981 GT4 compared to my 718 GT4. I drive mine to and from the track/autocross and will do some daily and weekend driving as well.

What would be the difference between OAP and factory muffler versus aftermarket muffler only (meaning leave factory particulate filters in place)?

Thanks!

No questions are stupid questions!

The factory OPFs mute and muffle the engine tone a bit, reducing the mechanical noise and character to the exhaust note. Swapping out to a set of OAPs without particulate filters will nominally improve flow, but really bring back that signature Porsche sound you're missing.

Here's a video (courtesy of @HooosierDaddy ) demonstrating the stock exhaust paired with the SOUL OAPs (valves open).

Here's another one from @Soul Performance

The opposite setup (stock OPF pipes + aftermarket valved exhaust) is a great way to go for California and European residents who can't touch the OPFs out of concern for emissions equipment tampering, and also give you a bit more volume and improved tone while reducing drone.

Of course, you can always go a little further and pair up the OAPs with the Valved Exhaust System:

...or just go straight for the jugular with the SOUL 718 GT4/Spyder Race Exhaust System (includes the competition OAPs):

I didn't know Kline makes OAP's. Did you get it from local dealer? I'm in San Diego

They do. Their OAP is a muffler design, but it has to go with their rear muffler as well, since the dual piping flow is the opposite of OEM flow (ie: smaller flow is bottom and bigger flow on top vs OEM smaller flow on top and bigger flow on bottom).

fabspeed, soul, akra, others? Any pros and cons vs all of these?

any vendors there with a good shop in Houston Tx area that can put a deal + install together?

thanks
Don't forget the new heat shielded Cargraphic OAP's. That's what I went with.

those are what I am going with also - the flow optimized (filter) version...

What is the difference with Akra Link Pipes and Akra OAP? Or are they the same?

"effectively" the same thing; Over Axle Pipe ~= Octane Particulate Filter pipe - of course the former may not have a particulate filter unlike the latter...

I believe it is called Otto Particulate Filter (OPF)?

I recommend JCR or Dundon for this question. Both are highly engineered and tested real world with open forums. They have unique and wonder sounds and can deliver a nice performance gain.

I had a 981 GT4. The 718 4.0 engine note and sound does not compare with it in stock form. But OAP delete and a valve controller will fix it 100%. I have the SOUL OAP and with valves open it sounds amazing. It is not the same sound as the 981 but it does have a darn great flat 6 sound. It's a wonderful car Porsche made imho. Makes me smile every time.

Hi, it is my first post on the forum. I dont understand why not just the oem particle filter "gutted". The dyno test show if i remember 1 foot/pound torq less and +/- 5 hp more. It cost nothing. It preserve the heat shielding and like Cargraphic oap the resonator for Porsche sound signature. It look like it sound mostly the same as Soul, Akra and Cargraphic. It is not detectable at visual inspection. If this modification bring problems, there will be many oem oap to sell on the net because many change for Soul, Akra or Cargraphic oap. I would like more feedback from different owners that did the gutt modification. Curiously i see no new info recently. It is probably my choice with Soul valve controller. What do you think?

gutting the OEM is fine if you are "happy" to make an irreversible modification to your OEM parts...
