So mine was initially not part of the recall batch. Build date late Jan 2021 lock date mid Dec 2020. Was thinking ah, how lucky I was. Fast-forward to today, brought the car in for some other warranty work only to be told my car is part of the lucky batch with their new bulletin.

Same notice received today. 3+ weeks for a communication so basic it should have been send within 48hrs of the stop sale being issued. Horrible example of crisis response from such a big brand. Also on the same page here - getting a car in Canada for Sept - Nov means you have lost a season/year of fun and value in the car (compensation?), bear the risk of a rebuilt engine vs new engine with way more that can go wrong with disassembly/reassembly locally (extended warranty?)

Since I know there are a few tracking the perspectives, I too am in camp:
1) new engine
2) compensation
3) additional warranty

If all three of the above are not present I personally will be walking away from the car. May consider an MY22 if I can be prioritized in the allocation list or will go a different path here altogether.

Did they keep it or would they let you drive it away?

That has to be a relief. Glad they could take that burden off you.

I wonder if this was the formal follow up communication they were referring to? If so, I guess there will not be another announcement this week as we originally anticipated....

Just in time for the week of sunny skies too. Would not want a Spyder up in flames on the side of the road .

In all seriousness though the service department at the dealership has been great to work with.

I can't imagine that would be the case. This Friday it will be a month since the stop-sale was communicated to the dealerships. A MONTH!

For lots of us, it will be a month since we actually had to tell the dealership about the recall because they didn't know anything about it...

What new bulletin and what is your VIN, are you a part of the original list, just didn't know?

Was just advised there was an update today (sorry I don't have the exact details as I took their word for it) and that my car is part of it. no I was not part of the original as I asked (a few times) and they double checked (also a few times) my VIN was not part of the original list while others were already ID'ed before they arrived for PDI. That said maybe their system wasn't up to date. Mine is in the 406xx.

Interesting, a 'new' update?

And the partial VIN you provided doesn't help us at all, the last two digits frame the reference, all six or the entire VIN would be better... we promise not to tell!

Maybe there is delay and lack of clear information because Porsche itself has yet to determine the full extent of the problem.
