Are GT4s still going over MSRP

Yeah, I meant flawed from a driving standpoint, not popularity. It suffers the same fate as most BMW performance models where the rebound shock damping is not that great and that means the car isn't very planted when pushed hard.

Agree. The car was not very confidence inspiring. I did play with the alignment and stuff to try and get it more to my liking, but could never “click” with it. I thought, at first, that I had just been spoiled by cars like the GT3, 458, Spyder etc...but even after many miles (and two track days) I never really enjoyed the car.

Yet the big pig M5 is almost as fast around any track as a new GT4. It may not feel as planted, but strangely it seems to get the job done.

That sounds about right. My GT4 has about 1,500 miles on it and I don't think I'd get within $10k of sticker if I sold it today. New is a different story, but a used car is a used car.

I just traded mine in this past week on a C4S and had sick feeling in my stomach driving to dealer which is very rare for me
I loved that car and I wouldn't be surprised if I go back to one

I'm not bashing it, I own a '19 and love it. And I'm not a BMW fan at all. The only reason I bought it is because I think the Panamera is awful looking inside and out and the Cayenne Turbo is a rip off at it's current price. And the pre LCA current gen M5 is a bit of an outlier in terms of current BMW styling, more square with cues from the E39 M5, so I could stomach it. While I'm not a real BMW fan at all, I always find it funny when Porsche people bash them with the same old tropes without actually looking at the performance data. In sport plus mode my M5 would be right on the *** of a GT4 on just about any road, and flying past it on most straights. A stock M5 CS is faster around Hockenheim than a stock 718 GT4. And it's a 4k+lb luxo barge sedan.

@Archimedes Did you catch this little 4-part series on tracking the M5 from EVO?
I loved my E39 540 M-Sport, couldn't get an M5 back then. Had that car for 13 years. Had thoughts of adding an M5 to stable, but this GT4 is just too much fun and I really don't have a need for 4-door in the stable.
Anyhow, here is the first EVO put out:

I rarely have an attachment to a car as I feel if I miss it , I can buy another one , but some cars give me some stomach knot when I trade them in , and this F90 M5 was one of them

I put all of my negotiating effort into trade value for my Turbo S so I was happy with MSRP on the Spyder. For what I got on the trade, including them paying to ship it and with the tax credit, I got more value than I could even with a private sale. Considering my local dealer wanted 10K ADM on the Spyder with 10K less on my trade, I called it a win and didn't look back

But that's just it......the enjoyment of the GT4 is precisely in how it feels. The sensations it gives you are the essence of why it thrills. If you want fast around the track, for the same money, get a Nissan GT-R and call it a day. Honestly, my Macan GTS in Sport+ mode will corner at higher limits than I feel comfortable taking it, but it does not have the same precision feeling or confidence inspiring feedback as my Spyder. And in the end, unless you are in a race for money, the only thing that matters is the enjoyment of driving, whatever that may entail.
