Hey Snowy! I was there as well on the 18th, saw your car a couple of times But didn't know it was you. I was in the white 991.2 with stripe down the middle...

The guy in the Spyder was doing pretty well yeah I met him once or twice in the AM when it was still wet. My modded 718 GT4 did a 2:41 in August with uprated springs and DSC.

My main problem though is I have to spend all day to try and find ONE clear lap. I was expecting RSR premium to be pretty good but it was a sh!tshow traffic wise... just impossible to string a lap together and some VERY low power slow cars (no fault of the drivers) and very slow GT3 race cars (fault of the drivers)

I may post a vid later following the grey/blue GT4 RS, he was moving on pretty well also (and I think I heard its occupants having a US accent). On the straights my 991 manual could not quite keep with a 4RS in the lower gears due to the PDK and short ratios but on the long Kemmel straight it was a different story.

What a pity! I would love to have met you and tried to follow you when it was drier.

I really only track once a year (last year Silverstone in the wet, this year Spa in the wet/dry). For me, RSR have been pretty good but agree there was a real mix of pace and standards and few clean laps. the first time I went there was a team of Lamborghini GT3s testing and an LMP car all were pretty daunting to be around.

I was just pleased to get to regular 2:54/5 at about 3pm - to get lower I need to improve my lines, use the whole track and get more confident in later braking get on the power earlier - so everything - but I did have a great day regardless. Hope I didn’t get in your way.

Not that I can remember for sure Honestly the worst were the people in race cars, weirdly. AMG GT3 had no mirrors, same for a 488 GT3 which then blew something on its trans and put fluid all over my car. Also RSR are really making a killing renting a ton of their cars out on the day but very few of those people seem to have much track experience.

Here was just a fun lap following the GT4 RS, my fastest lap is somewhere in my youtube as well.

Nice video JC. You were definitely faster than that 4RS. He wasn't so good in traffic and if you could have been allowed by, you would have been gone.

You might need to update your avatar.

I've got the front gt4rs underbody aero now. Noticeable difference in high speed corners, but looking for more aero at the front in high speed corners above 170kph. My rear is absolutely planted with my GT4 Clubsport wing, but the front needs more help. Will look into adding dive planes.

I'm sure lowering the front below factory ride height will help, but I'm on the stock dampers which might bottom out over curbs.

Suggest seriously increasing the front spring rate. Had Swift springs on mine. 80N vs 45N stock at the front, rear 100 instead of 80. No increase in understeer but better body control. And this way hitting the bump stops is less of an issue.

Thanks a lot for the suggestion. Didn't know these springs worked on stock valving. Was looking into buying JRZ 3 ways next season. Springs would be a nice stop gap.

I Have the Dundon dive planks and they seem to help. DBJ sells a front splitter if you want more or you could go with vented fenders. If you are worried about lowering the front, maybe just lower the front a little and raise the rear to make up the difference.

Does anyone know where I can buy the MR PCCB pad and brake line upgrade in North America? Cheers.

Ref the rear wheel placement… not sure if anything specific was done here… but the MR dampers do come with their own top mounts front and rear… so it’s possible that rear wheel positioning is coming from combination of that slightly different Top mount on the rear (more offset than OEM?) and the slight revision in ride height.
Do you have the part numbers for those bushes? I kind of wanted to do the same to mine.
Also, any ideas if the MR suspension is based on KW competition or KW clubsport?
Clubsport has pistons based on the street suspension, which have broken on me before.

@voods , sorry for the delayed reply… Christmas!

See the image… MR is on the left and KW Clubsport is on the right. I briefly ran the KW Clubsport on my 981 GT4.
MR Suspension is based on the competition design, that is to say inverted where the body of the damper takes the load, rather than the piston, as per the ‘street’ V3 design…. You can see the construction is much more stout as I’ve circled…

Excellent, thanks for the image. You're getting a real motorsport damper with the valving and spring rates figured out for less than JRZ/Ohlins motorsport equivalents, at least where I live.
I might pick this up soon.

@TDT With the PCCB, do you notice any difference with the MR brake pads compared with the standard ones? What is the main difference?

I have just received my car with PCCB and will install the MR dampers, just wondering if it’s also worth it to change the pads at the same time.

Thank you for sharing your insight on the MR products!

Not sure it was answered further back in this thread but did anyone fit the centre GT4RS vanes at the front? #27 in this diagram.
