Default How to clean door handle pull strap of GT4

I'm not too sure if it looks cool, but that contrasting color on the door handle strap is a dirt magnet. Any idea how to best clean it ?

Same polyester material as the seatbelts, I use Sontax Upholstery and Alcantara Cleaner on my seatbelts. Clean it with a small brush going with the grain, dry with a microfiber towel. Then treat the area with Vectra Carpet Protector.

Thanks..... talk about high-maintenance on a piece of strap. I guess there is no shortcut when it comes to car-detailing.

I am thinking about having some sort of Black leather cover made for the one in my Spider when I get it.; maybe Frank at Exclusive Option would consider making them...

I like that. Does it wrap and close with Velcro? I ordered chalk stitching so wonder how that would look in leather.

I should say he sent me the picture, but imagine the leather strap is a full replacement for the OEM strap —- likely the entire door latch.

Give him a call about what your ideas they’re the equivalent of Porsche CXX and custom tailoring.

The leather is also going to get dirty. I would buy one of these with a conventionally-shaped handle made of carbon fiber.

Not from my hands! And leather will wear a lot better than cloth!

All it takes is a visit to the dealer to stain that strap.

My Indy shop mechanics wash their hands before getting cars but I still have a steering wheel cover, shift lever cover and soon will have a door pull cover; however, it is still a lot easier to clean leather than cloth.

Now I've heard everything. ..."A shop mechanic washes his hands before touching your car".

It's true - Mack Motorsports in Jacksonville FL, run by Terry O'Brien who previously ran Pulse Racing Services.

Thumbs up for a shop that gives your car the white-gloves treatment.
