2nd time at Big Willow. They repaved the first half of the track earlier in the summer and it definitely helped with grip, especially turn 2. Can't wait for them to finish paving the rest.

When will they repave the rest of the track?

GT4 in OC those are fabulous runs at all three tracks ! Considering that Chris Winkler ( SRT Test Engineer and accomplished racer ) set a production car record of 1:33.94 in a 2010 Viper ACR at Laguna Seca and you virtually ran the same time , is incredible. It really shows the potential of the Goodyear SuperCar 3Rs and it further reinforces my view that I need to use my USAA Member discount to get a set. Solid runs and you should be quite pleased and I am sure I am not the only one who appreciates you also posting your videos of the runs. I am stuck in the Midwest , snow on the ground, so you are now my Semi-Official Hero for the Winter, ha!

***In response to USCTrojanGT3. Still new to the forums and didn't quote your Buttonwillow reply correctly.

Thanks! I only got 3 sessions in that day but got to chase Will from WRTeknica around which was a good way to improve my lines a little. Granted, he was gone after two corners but that little bit helped! My GT4RS arrives any day now, so I am "going to keep it stock" for as long as possible and work on driver mod for 2024. My goal is also to sub 1:50 in the GT4RS. See you out there!

Supposedly the rest will be repaved sometime this summer. Really started feeling confident through T8 this last time I went but I am still leaving some on the table in both T1 and T9. Sonoma is also getting repaved very soon which I am pumped for. Sonoma is my favorite track at this point and some fresh pavement will be great there.

I really appreciate the kind words! I'm still very green as my GT4 is my first Porsche. It's also my first foray into going to the track and safe to say I am hooked. My first official track day was November 2022 and luckily it was at Auto Club Speedway before they tore it down. I am trying to soak up everything like a sponge and do my best to improve each track day. I owe most of the credit to the vehicle too; the GT4 is supremely capable and the various aero bits I added + wider SC3R tires really helped it feel perfectly balanced and gave me the confidence to push myself. Making new friends with people at track days has also given me a world of insight into improving my driving habits. Hoping to better my times in 2024 with my incoming GT4RS so we'll see what I can do. I'm aiming to put up some numbers in line with the 992 GT3's and 991.1 GT3RS's I see at the track. Winter is track season in SoCal too so I'll hit the track for you until the snow melts.

Default 718 Cayman GT4 PDK - Sebring 2:19.8 on 2/03/24

Perfect conditions and not much traffic. The GT4 is so much fun, if I could just put together a good lap darn thing would be in the low 19s or possibly dip into the 18s in these conditions...aarrg uuggh damn it! Obviously need to work on consistency and also need to figure out how to avoid the rear end wiggling under hard braking. I thought that was dialed out w/ the tires/alignment but still there. I think I may be too aggressive when getting on brakes, might have to brake earlier but w/ less aggression to avoid upsetting the rear end? That being said my goal was to dip into 19s so I'm freakin happy!

Two options. More progressive on the brakes or big rear ****. Nice job.

Nice driving. Some friendly advice based on the video (ignoring any setup changes). Looks like you started to overdrive right as you saw the PB dipping. I'd probably roll a little less speed in 5 to get on full throttle earlier (sounds like you had very delayed throttle). And I'd try clean up the line through 15-16...looks like you're turning in from the middle of the track. If you have to breathe off the throttle to get it pointed in, I think it'll pay dividends. 18s are definitely in the cards

Yeah, I tend to slam on the brakes...can get away with in some corners but bites in others

Appreciate the advice. Still have tomorrow to work on improving though not sure the weather would ever be as perfect as today's lol and yes, I'm guilty of getting excited when the Garmin shows green!

Anyone who says they don't get excited for green/purple sectors is lying

DJ getting some seat time at CMP in my GT4 before the 2024 1lap

Cloudy and 39 degrees
245/285 71RS
Swift 6k front springs
9" front 11" rear 19" rims
Tarrett Motorsports rear toe links and front camber plates
Some fiddly aero bits
P1 seat inserts for bling

He got black flagged for going to fast (winning HPDE4)

2022 GT4 PDK
RE 71RS 245/40 285/35 19" on 9" front 11" rear rims
Tarett front camber plates
Tarett Motorsports rear toe links
Swift 6k front springs
Fiddly aero bits

First outside group to drive Hedge Hollow Full Course, a new Private Track in MO, it was very dirty which I am sure will improve as it gets more groups on track. I need to push my braking zones as way too much coasting on corner entry.

Are those 245/40 instead of 245/35?

Do you have any pics of this set up with REs?
