PASM is a no cost option on the GTS4.0. What are the advantages and disadvantages of getting it? On the configurator it says PASM raises the car 10mm and substitutes softer anti roll bars. I am getting close to ordering and wondering if I should check this box. I know in the past it was always an advantage. But I don't want to raise the car at all.
Thanks in advance!

It only raises the car in comparison to the standard GTS 4.0 suspension, which is called Sport PASM. It is 10 mm lower than the standard 718 suspension. If you don't want the car lowered, just leave it be and you will get SPASM, which is 20 mm lower than the stock 718 kit.

I do not believe the stock 718 ride height is available on the GTS 4.0. You have 2 options ordering the GTS 4.0:
A 20MM lower ride height compared to the standard 718 (SPASM) OR
A 10MM lower ride height compared to the standard 718 (PASM)
So If you click the option box you have a 10MM lower ride height than a standard 718 but also a 10MM HIGHER ride height compared to the default GTS 4.0 which is 20MM lower than the standard 718
I opted for the 10MM higher height on mine and am very pleased with the ride quality.
Some do not like the 10MM option as they feel the wheel/fender lip distance looks a bit too large, I think it looks fine.

Yes. As patdonahue notes, there are only the two choices on the GTS. As you indicated that you don’t like fender gaps, just leave the PASM box unchecked.

Leave it as is, the ride is fine on typical city roads. I was concerned the stock 20mm lower may be harsh and its not at all.

SPASM is the shizzle. The right stance and still not too firm.

Another vote for keeping SPASM. I’ve had all 3 now (pasm, spasm, and GT suspensions) and SPASM is definitely the sweet spot for a road sports car. Don’t have a problem scraping with either PASM or SPASM but SPASM definitely feels sharper, sportier, and all around better handler than PASM.

The standard Sport PASM, hands down. Perfectly fine for rougher roads in the softest Normal mode and perfect height (10mm higher than GT4/Spyder) to clear obstacles with a nice stance (smaller fender gaps).

Is the only difference between the two the spring? I would also keep the sPASM the car comes with. I do see a lot of UK cars though with the 10mm option, due to the road quality presumably.

On the previous 718 GTS 4cyl there are 4 different part #s for the anti-sway bars and helper springs (bump stops) in addition to the different springs and struts. Probably unique setups for sPASM vs PASM as well as manual and PDK. I think it would be safe to assume that the current GTS 4.0 would also have many different suspension components for sPASM vs PASM, more than just springs.

Go to the german porsche car finder for GTS 4.0 and click the “PASM” button in the options filter. It will show you only cars with the 10mm raised PASM. Dozens of them couple of weeks ago. Selecting the “Sportfahrwerk” button will give you the SPASM cars.

I opted for the PASM (10mm higher than standard) on my Cayman GTS 4.0 mostly for clearance purposes on the lousy roads in my area. I am very glad I did. In addition to negotiating speed bumps, driveways and drainage dips without a problem, it helps if you have to run over a rock or other obstacle. I ran over a pine cone yesterday, which made a horrific noise as it scraped the underside of the car; it would have been worse if the car was 10mm lower. I also have a GT3, and frequently have to use the front axle lift (not available on the Cayman) to get around town. While I'm sure the Sport PASM provides slightly sharper handling, I can assure you that a Cayman with PASM is no slouch on twisty roads, and provides a very comfortable ride.
