The Flat-6-Mafia from H-town will be well represented.

This will be a SAFE, but speedy event.

Please chime in. Planning is beginning.

Yes, I saw "Hill Country" but didn't have other details. Like where, how far/long, etc.

The Texas Hill Country is a specific geographic region on the Edwards Plateau…google it. Driving out there is best on roads west of Bandera, 335/6/7 are often traveled.

Yeah, I know - you'll note that I asked "where, how far/long?" There is a LOT of Hill Country - you can go out and back in 4 hours or 12 hours and both would be still be a Hill Country drive.

We will drive the Three Sisters starting from Fredericksburg.

If you are coming from the greater Houston area you are welcome to caravan up there with us.

Since this group will be heading down to the Three Sisters (aka the Twisted Sisters), I thought I'd mention that there is a really wonderful gourmet restaurant just outside Utopia called the Laurel Tree (southeast of Leakey). It is only open on Saturdays if anyone is looking for a special treat that evening, dinner seating is available between 6:30 and 8:30 by reservation only . It is truly a destination in itself even if you don't have time to drop by there this time. You'll need to book it well ahead of time (at least you did back in the pre-COVID days).

One more note. At that time of the year Lost Maples State Park will be busy and the trees may still be in fall colors at that time. The park is a nice little hike in the fall for any that may be considering staying in that area until Sunday.

I had put this previously on another thread, but I'll put a copy here too since this thread seems to be the most appropriate place for it.
This map is from the following site where you can find a clickable version with explanations of the differently colored regions:

How many can meet in Austin on Saturday afternoon?

Need a head count for a gathering in the city. Details to follow…

Also, I am open to more input from all.

Looking forward to it!!

For those of you that were with us before, we will stop for pie again!!
