Put yourself in his shoes. He owns a Spyder. Every time he has to screw with that goofy roof, he'll remember how Porsche punked him with the GTS 4.0. ![hiha](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/roflmao.gif)
"This isn't the right engine for this chassis. Just look at all this wheelspin!" isn't a line that should appear in a sports car review.
"Why doesn't it shove me back in the seat when I hit the gas at any given RPM? Also, what's this huge-*** lever sticking out of the console for, anyway? It seems to have something to do with this extra pedal, but I forgot to ask the dealer about it," would be another.

No comment on his conclusion, but this guy is the second biggest goofball car reviewer on the Internet, second only to Schmee (and maybe that Autogeful moron). I wouldn't put much weight on anything that he says about driving dynamics. He's the guy you go to if you're unsure about whether to wrap the fuse box in leather or not.
His "logic" for making his click-bite inducing statements is borderline retarded.
"Spyder COMPLETELY different car from the GTS4.0 like a 911 Carrera is completely different from a 911 Turbo"?
"Spyder is all about DRIVING because it has a manual top. The GTS 4.0 NOT all about driving because of its auto-top"?
"2.5 turbo more suited to the chassis than the 4.0 NA"?
Alright...

What a load of BS. I haven't driven a 4.0 GTS (or GT4/Spyder) yet, but I drove 2.5 GTS (and S) and 981 Spyder and there isn't a comparison, really. The 2.5 is potent but uninspired engine with pretty bad lag. I would rather have the 2.0 than 2.5, but obviously the 4.0 is where the fun it's going to be.
Talking about weight savings of Spyder roof is so stupid. It looks cool, I love the look, but the usability sucks and the weight savings are irrelevant.

Having test driven an S and now own a GTS 4.0, I feel like the later is like a generational leap in sensory experience.
Im not sure how the chassis “imbalance” would come to mind, as natural aspirated motors are legendarily smooth in its power delivery comparatively to its forced induction counterparts.

Obviously a GT derived chassis and the street version feel different. No disagreement with Janko there. But I would make a counter argument to him on the powertrain. For manual, NA over turbo any day. So much smoother both from a daily driving perspective and especially when you are wringing it out. No boost interruption no jerk. Also the extra shove in the 2.5 down low run out of breath up top which makes it less exciting albeit more usable in daily situations. Its an important tradeoff but alot of folks cant get over the sound which is arguably the main selling point. I remember driving the 2.5 and it was great but it didnt put a smile on my face like the GT4 did, which felt very similar to the .2 GT3 in my hands

Despite what people say, there’s nothing wrong with the 2.0t or 2.5t. I like the sound of the 2.0t a little better. And I would have been happy if the GT4 was a monster 2.5t.

I was really perplexed when he started putting exhaust blanks on his Spyder. I get that he was paying homage to the past but it seemed especially silly to me. His ingrish is getting better though.

"295 Cup 2 vs 265 PS4S rears"
Was he sliding the GTS 4.0 rear all over the place desperate for that extra grip? Lol...

I owned a 718 S 2.5 and I received my CGTS 4.0 Thursday. I took the new car for a long drive. While the 2.5 is a highly competent engine, I believe the 4.0 suits this car perfectly. I wouldn't put much stock in Janko's opinion.
