No comment on his conclusion, but this guy is the second biggest goofball car reviewer on the Internet, second only to Schmee (and maybe that Autogeful moron). I wouldn't put much weight on anything that he says about driving dynamics. He's the guy you go to if you're unsure about whether to wrap the fuse box in leather or not.

Surprised he'd prefer the T or 2.5 GTS...

He probably prefers the 2.5T because it's actually a really good engine in a really good car. It may not sound like a F6 but it punches way above its weight. With it's low RPM torque production, it lives very well in the real world.
This is what I was hoping for, to see a review that considers the advantages & disadvantages of both, so it's kind of nice to hear it from someone with real experience with both engines. I would still like to see a side by side performance test but I suspect that probably won't be in the cards.

Doesn't make me regret my specing out a CGTS4.0 to be delivered in early January.

It's not supposed to. You are getting an awesome car. I would love to try out the GTS 4.0 & will do that if I ever get the opportunity!

Nor should you, his is just an opinion.

Different strokes for different folks.

Everyone has their opinion, but I really don't get what he means by the 4.0 isn't tuned for the chassis. The 2.5s torque is going to hit faster and lower than the 4.0 so I'd imagine that would introduce more of an upset he is talking about. Even really good turbo engines like the 2.5 have some lag and come on stronger than a NA motor in certain areas. Especially with the longer gearing of the manual, you can really roll on the power as you choose with the NA motor. Granted, I only have 1000 miles on my car, but I have not felt these characteristics he is talking about in any mode while having fun on backroads. I came from a ZL1 1LE that obviously is way more stiff than just about anything else on the road. I thought my GTS 4.0 would feel too soft and not have as good of body roll control in the corners, but I was happily wrong and think the balance of the standard PASM (20mm lower) is damn near perfect in this car.

For me personally and that's all this is, is my opinion.......when I test drove 2.5 GTSs in the past, I left not wanting to make the jump to my first Porsche. Underwhelming isn't the correct sentiment, but I still felt something was missing in those cars for me anyway. When I got to test drive my car, it just felt right and so I finally made the jump to Porsche. FWIW, I felt the same way about numerous different 911s I test drove over the past few years. The video does make me feel better about my choice to get a GTS 4.0 over a GT4 though. I only do a couple Autocross/HPDE events a year so this car is just about the perfect sports car for me and the 99.5% type of driving I do. As he basically and other reviewers have said, you really can't go wrong with any choice in the Boxster/Cayman lineup as they are all excellent.

That is the cool thing about Porsche though, they are so good at giving people choices that fit just about whatever you want. You have to pay through the **** for it a lot of the time, but hey, I finally feel it is worth it at least.

I’d like to say definitively that his chassis comments are nonsense, but I can’t yet. I have a feeling though, that they are nonsense! Sometimes being a contrarian is good for clicks and likes and follows, and maybe he really does feel this way. He’s getting hammered pretty hard in the comments, and no other reviewer has even mentioned this (probably for a reason). I would never spend $100k on a turbo 4, and I think the market told Porsche the same thing.

Why wouldn't Janko be hammered in the comments? He isn't towing the party line.
