Interesting. So IMO, he drove the GT4 way worse than the other two cars (not on apexes as well, and massive oversteer a couple of times,) and it was still the fastest. I honestly expected the Lotus to win. Makes me extra happy that I’m getting the PDK in my GT4!!

So 1.54,6 for pdk and 1.55,0 for manual in a different vid. Curious if it was the same driver and how conditions were different (temp/track). Would expect a bigger delta unless the longer ratios in the 6mt really suit this track. The manual is also slightly lighter. Who knows.

Lot of slow corners and shifting on that track so I would expect pdk to destroy manual by at least 2sec (everything else being equal). This is why the manual Exige performed so badly in the comparo despite its vastly superior weight.

Since these are pool cars there’s really no telling what the tire, alignment and other difference were and the tests were done months apart so there really isn’t a baseline. I also contend, regardless what some here have said, that the driver is overdriving the cars and not getting the best ultimate performance. Not saying I could go better, I’m not that arrogant but the proof of the difference between 6MT and PDK will be what Porsche test drivers get and Porsche publishes or what a professional driver can do with both versions on the same day under the same conditions.

Well, my order is locked so PDK it is. This will be my first. Always good to try new things and it is a GT4 so my guess is that it will be a blast either way!. Now the wait begins.........

Default Is this the first GT4 with PDK - track race?

I didn't know the PDKs were even out much less the first track race?
I haven't seen a review yet!

Apparently not much faster than manual 1:55 vs 1:54.6.!
I know different day, driver, etc

Big bobble on the GT4 run with a speed zapping slide. Probably about 1 second difference on the same day, same driver, and same quality run.

you can’t really go wrong with these, and you can trade easily enough if you come to have genuine regrets
i mean the correct answer is “both”. I have pdk in my daily and MT in the fun car. the cayman is the fun car. Obviously

That is the beauty of a Porsche GT car, if for some reason you are not satisfied with it, it is not hard to get out of without losing much in depreciation (minus any taxes you paid of course).

I am trading my SS 1LE for a PDK GT4 next year, but I have to admit my mind keeps wandering to the upcoming C8 Z06. So, my plan is to get the GT4, keep for 1.5 years and see how I feel about it. By that time the C8 Z06 will be out reviewed, tested, and the hype will have died down some and go from there.

I have never had a P car or a mid engine sports car, so it will be interesting. I have very high expectations for the GT4 from everything I have read and seen, and if it meets them, I will probably forget about the C8 Z06. However it is nice to know I will have that option to swap down the road if I feel the need to.

Ditto! I went from a ZL1 to my RS and now moving to a pdk GT4 while thinking of the upcoming Z06. I miss the bottom end torque.

Weird because Christian G was able to do a 1:53.9 in a 6MT GT4 not long ago. The driving seemed much less tidy than Christian's lap though in all the cars. I think the PDK GT4 is easily capable of a 1:53 or maybe slightly into the 1:52.x with better driving.
