Default Brake Disk Coating Peels Of

Hey Guys,

I got some problems with my brakes disks on my 718 GT4.

It seems that the coating of my brake disks is peeling of.
I showed this problem to my local Porsche dealer, but they that das this issue is common on the GT4 / GT3.
Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Thank you!

Edit:

+1 There's no coating on 718 rotors like the street car option.

Now you need to expand on your sentence as well! What do you mean 'like the street car option'? A GT4/Spyder is a street car too.

He's referring to PSCBs on the regular Cayman's vs. the PCCBs available on the GT4/Spyder. But he's incorrect, as the surface of the PCCBs can flake off and degrade under hard use. I'm guessing that is what the OP is seeing/saying, though without pictures it's impossible to know.

Other than the dimensions of the rotors, are there any technical differences between regular Cayman vs GT?

I know about flaking off and small cracks over time but I don't think there are any coating on it. The steel ones are pretty straight forward.

You can't get PCCBs on the regular Caymans anymore.
