Got one of those lightweight antigravity batteries for my 718 Spyder

An recent feedback on Antigravity batteries in a 718 Spyder or GT4?
I’m considering the 60AH version for my Spyder, but don’t have the patience to deal with trickle chargers or check engine lights.

I put mine in the day it was delivered. No issues at all. I have a trickle charger battery lead on all my toys and use it occasionally. More important on motorcycles. Lithium actually discharges slower than lead-acid.

Can you explain what you mean by Unplugged? Do you mean taken off a Charger/Maintainer? That would depend on the Amp Hours of the Battery. A 40Amp Hour Antigravity Lithium battery in a Porsche would sit about 6 weeks if you don't have any extra accessories, or a fast parasitic draw on it before it put itself to sleep. a 60Ah would give another roughly month or so. It all depends ont the energy draw coming from the Car, and if you have any extra accessories.
If you simply detached the cables going to the battery it can sit about 6 to 8 months and hold it charge.
Hopefully that answers your question.

I have now had my Antigravity battery for over a year.
I also if you recall did a test and let my Porsche Cayman 718 GT4 sit for over 4-months just to see if it would start.
Of course it did so no surprise on that. LOL !!!
Anyway, thanks for an excellent product Sir.

I have 40aH in both my GT3 and Spyder, since they are only occasionally driven I trickle them ... I forgot to do so on my GT3 for about 4+ wks, luckily the AG battery shuts itself down to retain a
starting charge so all I needed to do was use the remote to enable and the car unlocked and started 1st time

Two plus years on the 60 AH. Not a single issue.
No battery does too well left alone on a Porsche for 4 months. I would just go out and hook up the trickle charger for a day or so after two months no matter what. You don't need to leave it on all the time.

nope no need... the AG retained enough cranking charge ... and once you have unlocked the car you can also bootstrap unlocking the frunk if your (non AG) battery does not have enough charge to unlock it - c.f the OM

Thread necromancy!
Does the normal CTEK trickle charger not work for Litium batteries? I have MXS 5.0. Researching...nope, just lead-acid batteries. Oh well.
And why do people hook up the harnesses to the battery when you have the plug in the passenger footwell?

Not sure why I started using footwell, but it has always worked a charm for me. Never any issues.
Hmmm, the CTEK Lithium US charger says it is good for lithium-iron (Fe) batteries, and the AGB batteries are lithium ion. Problem? This is probably answered 60 posts up from this one...

I use the alligator clamps on the battery's plus pole and the ground and route the cable under the hood because I don't want to keep the window open to route the cable to the footwell plug when the car is in storage. Besides that, I agree that the plugs in the footwell and in the armrest work well.

Larry, which model CTEK are you using on the AGB? The regular lead-acid battery charger kind? I notice Terry had a special CTEK version especially for lithium.

(having said that I use a plain old crappy charger on the AGB whenever I flash the ecu (allegedly))

got them (and the bluetooth battery monitors: https://antigravitybatteries.com/pro...acker-lithium/ ) when I installed the 40Ah H6 AGB's in both cars
