Default Lwb booster seat, which one?

Hi everyone I hope everyone is enjoying their cars! I am doing a search and can't find which model booster seatpeople recommend for LWBs. My son is @almosf 7 about 65 lb and I want to take him for drives, place the seat in the furthest back position.

I am understanding no need to do an airbag deactivation switch if passenger is below 80 lbs?

Is there particular booster seat people are using? I just have a regular Britax.

Also, the 718 gt4 car cover...I am seeing the one with the stripe from Suncoast and the regular one. Is there any difference?

Thanks! Mike

I would get Crazy Eddie to custom make one for you to match the LWBS.

I am ordering bolster protectors from him via this thread.

Maybe it’s because the Porsche website say that buckets aren’t compatible with child seats?

Booster seats are different from child seats, and while the manual isn’t very clear in its wording, the diagram implies child seats are the issue. Child seats implement their own seat belts, and need to be tethered to the seat at the top and bottom. The front seats lack top anchor points for child seats, and they don’t support LATCH either. Booster seats are different in that they use the regular seat belts, but just raise the child so the seat belt fits better and the child can sit all the way back in the seat.

The bubble bum is probably the cheapest/easiest solution.

There are also high back booster seats that include guides for the shoulder belt. While most such seats sold in North America won’t fit in the LWBS, I’ve seen photos of people putting the Porsche booster seats in LWBS and they seemed to fit well. The Porsche booster seat includes a shoulder belt positioning guide, reduces the width of the seat for better side support, and reduces the depth of the seat, allowing better positioning of the child. Together, I would expect these measures to provide better crash safety for children than a basic bubble bum style booster seat.

If the child is almost tall enough to safely ride without a booster, then a bubble bum would probably suffice for crash safety.

Regarding the airbag: there is a sensor under the seat bottom cushion. In theory, it’s supposed to classify occupants based on their weight. In practice, it looks at pressure applied to a relatively small part of the seat where your bum would normally go. When a booster seat is present, it tends to distribute the weight around this sensor, so the airbag usually stays off when a booster seat is present. However, it’s best to confirm this by checking the airbag disabled light stays on when the child is sitting in the booster seat.

On the tequipment page for the Junior Plus seat which is a full back booster, it say: “Child restraint systems may not be used in combination with sports bucket and full bucket seats“.

I use a Volvo booster seat given to me by a friend. It is narrow, light and fits perfectly in the LWBS.

Here are some pictures of the sticker with p/n. This is an old model (at least 10 y/o) but I found the new one (looks similar just different design).

scroll to bottom of page for booster seat.

Compliments of Izzone, this is the Porsche branded Junior Plus G2 G3 Seat.

I'm trying to find out if this (newer, different version) will fit our LWBs.

Just found this thread.

I’m currently booster seat shopping for LWBS, but don’t have the car yet. When people mention booster seats not fitting the LWBS, what exactly doesn’t fit? Is it the base being too wide? If so, how wide of a booster seat can fit the LWBS

I’m interested specifically in the Diono Monterey XT. Do any of you think this seat would fit or not?
