Default Bolster protector group buy for 718 Spyder Classic interior owners

Those who have owned a GT car before are probably already familiar with @Crazy Eddie's Bespoke Auto's brilliant LWB bolster covers.

Ed whipped up a set of bolster and headrest protectors (with "Spyder" embroidered) for my 981 Spyder with Garnet Red interior, and they were a spot-on match (finding the right leather took almost a year!).

I've asked him to make another set for my incoming 718 Spyder with Bordeaux Red interior, and he offered to do a group buy for any others who are interested, whereby we'll receive a $10 discount if we hit 10 buyers and an additional $10 off if we hit 20+. The pre-discount price is $660 for the Bordeaux Red bolster protectors ($590 base + $70 for the special leather).

Feel free to reply here, or e-mail Ed directly at ed@pencom.com if interested. I think he hopes to get a sense of demand sooner rather than later since he'll need to order leather he wouldn't otherwise stock to make these (since 99% of LWBs are Black).

PS: No stake in this other than I'm a big fan of Ed and his products, and want to see these get made for those with incoming 718 Spyders with red interior

EDIT: Got mine installed! See this post for pics.

Thanks for posting and great idea. But are you saying it's only a group buy for Bordeaux Red bolster protectors or is he allowing everyone who joins to choose the color they need?

The Bordeaux covers are considerably more expensive because of the leather that needs to be acquired from Germany ( not the standard black which is considerably cheaper )
The standard black leather covers are as always still 590 with whatever stitching is needed ... it’s the Bordeaux which the group buy in focused on ....
Hope that clears it up ? If not please email me ( ed@pencom.com ) or pm me...
I’ll add more info on this thread in a little while as I’m buried right now on something else 🙄
best regards
Ed

As someone who has LWBS in his new Spyder, I can attest to the quality and usefulness of Ed's Bolster protectors!

So happy I have them, and you will understand what I mean when I say "nobody notices them..."

Sets are sold for both passenger and driver seats. Just the side that you enter/exit.

Is that Bordeaux red?

Looks a bit different than what I saw at the dealer (middle one) beside Garnet Red.
My only concern is color matching. If it matches perfectly, count me in.

Here

Here is a pict of the Garnet Red vs the Bordeaux
its the lighting in the earlier pict that makes it look off.
i have made many many covers for the earlier spyder with garnet red ... they are different
This leather is from the same manufacturer that makes the leather for Porsche ... and same OEM thread as well
I hope that clears it up ?
Kind regards
Ed
