My previous 987 Boxster had no options except Bose and the paint, and I thought it was great. I know we fuss over all the options, but honestly the base car has everything that’s really important. I like the look and feel of the leather dash, but when driving I dont really care what the interior looks like. The vinyl dash would probably need less care/maintenance too.
My first Porsche was a black 987.1 06 Boxster S with just Bose, heated seats, and yellow Porsche wheel crests as options that I bought new off the lot with a nice 10% discount. During the 6 years, 40k backroad miles, and 70+ track days (I put the Euro 996 GT3 buckets in it) I didn't even notice the lack of any additional options. I loved that car.
We're overthinking this. I present the uber-stripper, $92,360 msrp, $2110 in options: just (silver) paint, heated steering wheel, Bose, and done. Sporting NA 4.0 Porsche goodness, heated seats, Apple car play, black PDLS + 4 LED DRL lights, heated soft/warm/grippy alcantara on hands and a$$, AND POWER TOP standard. The best bang/$ in Porsche universe, including 911, in a very long time. Easy to keep clean silver -- just sit in it and drive your a$$ off. A timeless classic:

Yep, looks familiar, lol. Nice work. Not a fan of the Premium package myself. I'd just order the heated steering wheel and Bose separately. and save the $$ for the rest.
For me though, I've had 4 Porsches and they've all been someone elses creation. This is my 1 and only new Porsche, so I'll add a few bits and pieces as it will likely be the last ICE / Manual car I'll buy so I'm in it for the long haul! My final price when it was locked in last week came in at $110k Canadian which is like what $35 American? ;-)

Congratulations! That looks very nice. I have seen that blue up close and it is stunning.
I put my deposit down this week to secure an allocation for a Cayman build next year. I think these specs sill more than satisfy me, so far anyway LOL....
My choice between Boxster GTS 4.0 and Spyder comes down to a choice between practicality/convenience and beauty + GT3 suspension. A BLACK Spyder pushes the "suffer for beauty" theme to its extreme and logical conclusion. I know it's a Spyder in a GTS 4.0 thread but this combo to me is by far the most beautiful 718 4.0 so had to share -- pure sex:
Didn’t want to start a tread for this, but this is the press package for the GTS. For those waiting, there are some interesting tidbits.... thanks to the other forum member who found this for the GT4 in the other thread. If you drill back on these links you can find the GT4 / Spyder info as well.
Z06jerry...very similar to my build, but I kept the red calipers and have added red seat belts and gauges. I went back and forth between silver and white combos, but ended up going with classic silver in the end.

Classic! Personally, I'd get rid of the light design package, 18-way seats, navigation, Porsche crests on headrests (nothing wrong with "GTS"), and center console with "GTS" logo. If you must spend the $$, then I'd replace those with full leather.

The 5 spoke Carrera S wheels also look sweet on a GT Silver Cayman too. My buddy has them on his GT Silver Cayman S (-20mm) and his combo is gorgeous.

Check out the "GG" interior, it has the stitched "GTS" logo on the headrests for the same price as "AJ" interior

The seats are non-negotiable as my wife wants them. The headrests showed no logo or emblem, so I added the crest. I think you only get GTS logo if you go all leather. If that's not the case, then I will definitely go with the GTS as standard. Cheers.

Standard interior still get the GTS logo pn the seat headrest but there are no logo on the armrest
