Put my order in on 11/28 for a Phython Green Spyder to be built next May! I will live vicariously through this thread until then.

@OakenGoby I think all of these are accurate, just depending on light. I highly recommend ceramic, as that extra gloss really makes the color shinier and deeper (plus the other benefits).

Hmm, that’s a tough call. It really darkens as the light softens. Below is a dusk shot. They are all accurate, depending on ambient lighting. I wasn’t considering PG at all, considering it garish, but then I saw a set of pics by a guy in Cali (the first one above is from him), and I was blown away. Then when the car arrived, I was stunned, and have been in love ever since. I was twice as excited while I waited, as I had been for my original GR car. I think this spec (over yellow accents with black wheels) really makes it pop. (Def get ceramic) Of the people that say anything, 90% LOVE the spec (effusively so), and 10% hate it. lol If you don’t like being complimented on your car (and occasionally insulted), don’t get it. It evokes strong reactions.
if you like pic #3, that is a full Texas sun pic.
But color reaction is 100% in your head, so if YOU don’t love it, then nothing can fix that. The good thing is, all spyders start out gorgeous. The color is just the clothing they wear. For me, at this point, there is no better color Porsche offers (including PTS). If I win the lotto and get an SRS allocation, I’ll duplicate this spec.

Here’s a PG gt3 I saw recently, for reference. I would say the color had more depth, in person.

It is interesting however how much the color can seem to change depending on the body that its on. I think it looks fantastic on the GT3, however I saw it on a GTS at my local dealership a while back and wasn't too particularly impressed. Which is why as my backup in case I couldn't get my GT4 I specced the GTS I was thinking about in the Aventurine Green.
That being said I managed to get my GT4 allocation and specced Python Green immediately. One thing I have noticed about this color though, is that without some black to break it up along the body, it can seem too much. Spyder doesn't have this problem due to the soft top being black. And the GT3 above has side decals helping it out. I'll be doing side decals on the GT4 to solve this exact "problem". Overall I cannot wait to see my car in person. 1 more week!!

Agree on some cars benefiting from a color break up. The spyder has the intakes and I spec”d the door handles black as well. It seems to come together nicely.
Xxyion: what an exciting time! Enjoy.

I'm overly excited. But yeah the Spyder really does lend itself to a big selection of colors due to how it breaks it up along the body, I think that's one of the subtle appeals of the way the car is styled that no-one seems to talk about. It so interesting too because some people talk about putting the GT4 intake covers on the Spyder, and while I do love those, it takes away from the black contrast and actually looks worse imo.

This thread is definitely making me rethink my choice of Carrera White Metallic. Why is choosing a color the hardest decision I've ever made in my life. The car looks so good in green (and white, and blue, and silver, and grey and...)

Its one of the few cars out there that just works in so many colors. I strongly believe Porsche design took color in mind when designing how their cars look. While green is my favorite color and I would have any Porsche in any shade of green, its one of those things where you could go as crazy as a metallic sea teal down to a glossy silver and the car would look amazing in either.

Python is my second choice. Still very tempting...

If I was to order my car today I'd probably go with Arctic Gray, possibly Shark Blue, or Gentian Blue once again. These cars look great in so many colors! Especially the GT4 and Spyder look great in bright Skittles colors with the aggressive styling and decent size without being too big. White looks wonderful but had a 997.2 GT3 in Carrara White for almost 10 years and therefore wanted a change Python looks great overall, but it's a bit too much for me. Also agree that Python looks better on the Spyder as the soft top breaks the body color.
