Default sport seats plus backrest shells in leather

Do anybody have any pictures of what this would look like? I can't seem to find anything doing a search and nothing on you tube either? Probably because nobody selects this option. I'm interested in getting the 18 way seats and just curious to see what this option would look like to see if it substantially changes the look to warrant the extra cost. The website describes this option as:
1. Sports Seats Plus backrest shells
2. Coat hooks on seat backrests
3. Hinge cover
4. Seat console

When you don't option this, are the backrests just a hard plastic painted in silver? I know with the Boxster/Spyder, nobody is sitting behind you so this is a silly option but just curious to see how it looks. Also, it doesn't seem like the stitching on this option would include deviated stitching even if I select the pre-set leather interior with race-tex in red as it doesn't mention it.

If I was doing Sport Seats Plus, I would definitely do the leather seat backs. Looks awesome... I hate the plastic seat backs... the color/finish doesn’t match anything. Plus looks cheap IMHO. Being a drop top you see them all the time. Also if you get contrast stitching even better as looks more premium. I say go for it!!!

I did see a you tube video where someone was discussing the steering column in leather and mentioned that if it has deviated stitching, you might run into a problem with the deviated stitching reflecting onto the glass on the instrument dials....but it does look nice.

What color interior were you thinking?

I'm thinking of getting the pre-set black leather/race-tex with the red interior bits. GR sealbelts, GR dials, GR chrono, CF trim. I did post another thread about MB and how to match the interior and as my wife and I were discussing it more and more, we're leaning more and more towards GR exterior with red brake calipers and interior as mentioned above.

It does look great.
Best suited for a 911 where you can actually see the seat backs. Not so much in the mid-engine models.

They may have fixed it, but at least with GT3 you had to specify the deviated stitching on the seat backs in leather.

yup. Still there under stitching options. Make sure your dealer puts in a note with the correct color stitching on your order.

So the place where I'm seeing this is not under the Seat Centers and Stitching category. I know where you're referring to and I've marked that option in that section to check it out but when I do, it makes me remove the pre-set Leather Interior with Race-Tex option that you can select in either black, yellow,, red, or silver. Instead, it makes you select from a palette of 10 different colors. It's confusing how Porsche does this but the option that I'm referring to is located in the Interior Leather category. It's labeled as Sports Seats Plus Backrest Shells in Leather for $1640. I believe by selecting the Sports Seats Plus Backrest Shells in Leather option in the Interior Leather category, the red deviated stitching will match the rest of the deviated stitching from selecting the pre-set Leather Interior with Race-Tex option.

Someone, please correct me if I'm wrong but the way that Porsche sets up some of the option selections can be confusing.

I just ordered my new GT Silver Cayman GTS 4.0 PDK with Black/Bordeaux Red, 18-way seats, and backrest shells in leather. Might be a waste of money to some in a 2-seater but to me it just wouldn't look finished without. God is in the details.

I disagree... you see it all the time with the Spyder.
