Works very well on the track...

yeah, kinda...but not as predictable as the GT4 which seems to rev match consistently every time you down shift and as soon as you move the shifter into the gearbox.

On the GT3 there is some wonky combination of gearbox, clutch position, RPMs and sunshine or rain, day or night and if the track is clockwise or reverse.

I guess Your Mileage May (does) Vary ... Ive never experienced any such unpredictability in my 6MT GT3 ... on or off track

Have you tracked your GT4 yet? I think you’ll notice a difference

991.2 GT3 -- wife and I did an autocross last year. Crossing the finish line, you of course nail the brakes to finish in the box. I also put the clutch in and dropped into neutral of course. Probably going from full throttle 2nd gear (maybe 3rd gear, I don't remember) braking hard into the box. Stupid car is revving the engine until I release the clutch assuming I was going to downshift into 1st (or 2nd, again, I don't remember). It ASSUMES you're going down a gear before you even start to engage that gear. Basically rev matches with brakes on and clutch in.

GT4 logic is better -- it doesn't rev-match until once the gearshift lever starts to engage a lower gear.

Anyway, talked to the wife. I think we're going to order a 718 GT4 with the assumption that I'll trade (or sell) the 981 GT4 when it gets here. If I like it a lot, I'll prob sell the GT3, as well. We'll see.

Having said all this a full throttle no lift shift at between 8k and 9k is very intoxicating.

My experience too
The rev matching/assistance in the manual GT3 was not as “natural“ as the one on the GT4 (when you are not fully on).
Sometime acting weirdly and giving a blip on upshift...

Yep, for street driving, the MT GT3 is not easy to drive smooth. You basically need to fully release the clutch before getting back on the gas when up shifting. It doesn't appreciate the driver trying to rev-match when it's trying to rev-match.

Anyway, I hope the 718 GT4 uses the same rev-match logic as the 981 GT4..
