How does the 718 GT4 compare with 981 GT4 and 991.1 GT3 on track?

Post the article / data from the source so we can read. Also, again, Cup 2 -> Cup 2 R lol, different leagues of tires - we all know Cup 2R are the RS tires that do crazy times - no surprise. If you can tell us a Cup 2R N0 vs. Cup 2R N1 has a wide margin, ok, but your comparison doesn't work to prove it out. We are talking about sub-version / brand tire (i.e. N specs) NOT Cup 2 R...
...thank you, come again!...

It's is on the Michelin website.
No need for further response. I live in a world where facts control not opinion.
You guys have your opinions I have my facts and opinions.
It doesn't really matter. Buy what you want to buy and enjoy.

Lap times are facts, not opinions. Where we have some disagreement is on the inferences from the facts. Inferences aren't valid if you're comparing apples and oranges while thinking you're comparing apples to apples.

french gt4
I've change my 981 gt4 for the 718 gt4 .
I do a lot of track days on several French race track ... For example :
On Magny cours , 1,57.5 (981) 1,55.8 (718)
On Le mans , 1,53,2 (981) vs 1,51,4 (718)
So , yes , the 718 go faster on track than 981 .
Some friend of mine have change their 981 for 718 like me , and it 's the same ... 1.5 to 2 sec better with 718 .
the pleasure is the same , but it's faster ...

We’re talking about an incremental update of a Cup 2.

718 GT4 is around 2s faster per lap than the 981 GT4 around Silverstone GP Circuit. I would imagine half of that is made up by the N0 to N1 tyre, quite a nice step.
The time I've completed at Silverstone GP in our 718 GT4 is faster than any 991.2 GT3 time that I have seen around there. Make of that what you will but the 718 GT4 is a nice step up from the 981 absolutely no question.

you're right !!
but the price will not be the same !!!!! perhaps not too far from the price of a 2019 991.2 gt3 .....
and the allocations will not be the same too ....

I find it hard to believe that 'Ring lap times would be that consistent. We are talking about a 13 second difference over a 7.5 min lap! The two laps were done 4 years apart, with different surface conditions and weather conditions. Was it even the same driver? If it was the same driver, has his skill gotten better with more driving experience? Worse with age? You get my point.
In every other thread where people talk about how much difference a mod makes on performance, and we all state that to compare apples to apples, it has to be same car, same day, same conditions to be able to have a valid comparison.

I'm replacing my 981 GT4 for a 718 GT4/Spyder. Mine arrives 3rd week of August. I'll miss my 2016 GT4. It has been flawless. The only reason I'm selling it is to get back into a convertible. PDK is coming so I hear, however, I prefer a manual. I have PDK on my RS3 which is nice when in bumper to bumper traffic. Enjoy whatever car you decide to buy.

I'm willing to grant that a pro driver like a Porsche factory driver will be getting just about everything out of the car, so that variable can be take out of the equation. But the track surface temp, ambient air temp, rubber on the track surface, etc. can certainly affect the lap time significantly.
