The time I've completed at Silverstone GP in our 718 GT4 is faster than any 991.2 GT3 time that I have seen around there. Make of that what you will but the 718 GT4 is a nice step up from the 981 absolutely no question.

what do you think is the more satisfying driving Experience and fun GT4 or 991.2 GT3 ?

Also, what are the prospects of PDK becoming available for the 718 GT4? We have two manual Porsches for the road, and prefer PDK for the track.
The 1-2s laptime diff should be irrelevant from fun/enjoyment perspective. 981 is lighter but 718 offers PDK. If too close to decide, stick with 981 until gt4 rs comes out then decide between the three. Should have plenty of almost new cpo 718 gt4 available to test drive and compare by then.

You can get a manual in a GT3 so that can’t be it.

For me, it sum of the parts. Obviously Motorsport designed, but the mid engine, less weight, good power and torque, great shifter, it all adds up. As reviewers have said, it feels like an extension of your body. For me, it doesn’t feel like I’m driving a car. It feels like I’m piloting my own seated body around the roads. In other words, the car just disappears and you become one with it. You don’t have to think, you just act and do. You won’t get that with the GT3 even though it’s the better car.

Opposite experience for me when comparing 981 GT4 with 991.1 GT3. GT4 is good, GT3 is even better.

gr3 is better ,yes , more powerfull , better engine , better sound , but if you want to beat a gt4 on a track (, we speak of immatriculate car ) , you've to be a very good driver ...... for me its more fun to push gt4 to the limit than a gr3 , because it's easier ,, less dangerous than a gt3 .... the oerfect road car to improve as a gentleman driver .... that's all .... I had a 997.2 gt3 , and actually a 997 gt3 rs 4.0 ... for me in term of rate price/feeling/search for limit , gt4 is the best . because i can push it to the limit not my gt3rs !!!!!
i cut the assistance on gt4 , never on gt3 ....... because i feel it more ..... that what i want to say .....

I do a lot of track days on several French race track ... For example :
On Magny cours , 1,57.5 (981) 1,55.8 (718)
On Le mans , 1,53,2 (981) vs 1,51,4 (718)
So , yes , the 718 go faster on track than 981 .
Some friend of mine have change their 981 for 718 like me , and it 's the same ... 1.5 to 2 sec better with 718 .
the pleasure is the same , but it's faster ...

perhaps you have improved your driving over time. Dont think 718 is 2 seconds quicker.

do you track your 997RS? Bc more tracktime more confidence. The feel how early and hard you can push the throttle in 997 RS vs. GT4 is incredible. 997RS is more throttle adjustable and you can really nice decrease radius

i think this is why it’s hard to really take too much from what people say, unless they can demonstrate they are already extracting the most from the previous package.
We all know the biggest and best mod is to the driver and not the car. So unless your a pro driver like JCR or really credentialed AM, some claims need to be taken with an amount of sodium chloride!

Why? The 718 GT4 is turning lap times equivalent to cars that have run 1.5-2.5 seconds faster than that 981 at that track. Two seconds faster per two minute lap time is probably pretty accurate.
