Curious as to why this isn't being covered by your warranty?

I haven't tried! - sunk cost to me of a couple of trips to the dealership etc not worth it - easier to get the part myself and install it.

Does anyone have thoughts or experience on leaving the 718 Spyder top stowed for extended periods? Are there any issues with permanently creasing the top?
What is the longest one would leave it down?
Thanks.

It is never a good idea to leave a soft top down for an extended period since creases will form, but how long is an answer I do not want to know from personal experience! Why not just put it up when not driving?

Agreed. Plus, the interior would be exposed to dirt, etc. all the time.

A sheet over the cockpit would solve that problem but leaving the top down for long should not be a habit.

What would your definition of long be, overnight, days, weeks, months?

I would not leave it down overnight, unless I was 100% sure I was using it first thing the next day.

I never leave mine stored overnight...but I have no evidence to support my claim
my garage is dusty like a construction site, so another reason why I don't leave it down

Thx. What about pull up but not latched for just overnight every day? Or your suggestion is for roof latched AND buttresses latched?

I leave mine for days top down when in the garage, I see no reason to worry about the top that way, Porsche didn't design a convertible where you can't leave the top stowed for a few days without worry!

To help keep the interior clean I throw on the bimini top if it is parked overnight inside or outside if more than an hour.

This is of interest to me, as I have limited storage space, and if I add another vehicle as I am considering doing, the Spyder will have to go on my 4 post lift with the top down...and might be left that way for a week or more at a time. I have a low garage ceiling, and having made every adjustment possible to my lift and garage, I need the extra few inches of clearance that is provided by having the top down in order to get the Spyder on the lift with my wife's Miata stored below. Yes...it is that tight...
What bimini top are you referring to? I would appreciate having something better than I was considering to place over the car with the top down to keep the dust out.
Thanks.

I usually leave my top up and fully latched in the garage - I made the mistake of leaving it stowed for a few days and I could not get the top latched again without help to pull it down to let the hook engage...

I do however occasionally leave the buttresses stowed if I know that I am using the car again "soon" ... as that secures the cabin but saves the faff of attaching the buttresses etc...

I'm sitting in my home office (garage) next to my car and realized that I've had the top down for two weeks. I just put it up and see no issues. The top is so tight that any wrinkles seem to stretch out immediately. I only put it up because this thread made me curious and it is raining for the next week anyway
