Spring has sprung in Toronto. 15 degrees Celsius and nothing but sunshine. Couldn’t take it anymore - had to get Spyder out of hibernation and go for a nice drive - must be my age - would never do this with any of my previous sports cars until every piece of salt and sand was gone from every road - but I’m beyond saving it for the next guy 😎. With electric dominance on the horizon, I want to drive it every chance I get. Pictures from before and after drive - from pristine to dirty. I see a car hand wash in my future.
I've been playing with Porsche's online configurator for a couple of months now, as I have a CGTS 4.0 on order and am waiting for a build slot. I really didn't consider Gentian Blue because the color looks underwhelming in the config builder. I had been planning on a GT Silver build, but then when I saw a used GT Silver 718 at the dealer, it didn't wow me like I expected it would. I've had several silver and gray cars, and I think it might be time for a splash of color in my new CGTS. Thanks to this thread and the pics that people have shared, I have a much better idea of what GB actually looks like!
I've taken the pictures from the Porsche configurator (left), and tweaked them a little bit (right) to give a better representation of what GB actually looks like. It's a subtle difference, but for me it's a big one!
I've been going through the same thought process. Week before last I saw a GT Silver Cayman and was underwhelmed too. But right next to it was a GB which was a little dusty and I almost didn't notice it. My only concern is like black it's a great color but needs to be kept really clean to look it's best. But the payoff; wow!

A friend has one and I thought I be impressed with the color in person but I was not, probably because it was not clean - fingerprints, smudges, water spots, etc. so if you are particular about how your car looks darker colors are not the best choices...I would take GT Silver even though it is boring.
I know that a number of you are "bummed" about the recent news with the stop sale orders...but keep in mind, when it's all said and done, Porsche will fix your cars and those of you that have chosen wisely (aka Gentian Blue ), will have one of these sitting in your driveway...good things come to those that wait. Be patient...trust me, it's worth it.

Locked in my first Porsche build! Going Gentian Blue Spyder with aurum wheels. Seems like forever until it's supposed to be delivered in July! Will post pics once it’s in possession.
