Great photos all around, really good read of a thread. . Is it my imagination or is Gentian Blue similar to the older Lapis Blue. My 2001 Boxster S is in Lapis
A buddy of mine has a Lapis blue Boxster it is a beautiful color, at a glance close in tone but when you see Gentian Blue you will see the difference, Lapis is a classic metallic paint but pretty much a single colour throughout.
Gentian Blue has a mix of blues in it that change with the lighting and through out the day as the colour temperature of the sky change, this is referred to a 'flop' where specially formulated paints change colour with lighting, quite striking!
Thanks I appreciate you taking the time to answer. IIRC the original 944 Turbo S had a Silver metallic paint that had a subtle tendency to have various tints in the paint appear in various lighting conditions. It seems the Aventurine Green may have the same tendency as the Gentian Blue from what I have seen in photos.
Loved Gentian when I first saw it on 992 cars. Now not as enamored with it when seeing it on GT4/Spyder cars. No idea why. Could be that GT cars aren't amenable to so much (light) flop...
Beautiful day for a drive (and taking pics apparently) today around Seattle and WA in general.
GB really pops in the sunlight. Such a beautiful color. Haven't seen one in real life on a cloudy day. Given we have more cloudy days than not in Seattle, do you think it is worth getting GB for days like today even though the car doesn't look this good on most days?

I have a GTS 4.0 for December delivery. Gentian Blue with a Graphite Blue interior. My last was a 2015 Cayman S with Night Blue Metallic and a Yachting Blue interior. It will be an subtle but interesting change, I think.
Thats a nice garage We too have a Macan, mamba green. So I am hesitant to get PG for GT4. So my next choice is Gentian. Although, if Shark blue is an option by the time I get allocation I might consider it too.
