Just met with my sales rep for a status update, My Spyder was scheduled to enter the bodyshop on Friday 03/20. However, it went into production this past Monday, four days early. My sales rep says he thinks it will come out of production by weeks end, so there is a chance it will make it out of the parking lot and onto the boat. I am posting this because I know some of you have the same 03/20 "enter bodyshop" date. Lemeno what your S/A has to say about your build date.

...so perhaps there is a slim chance after all?
***Update*** Dang, my SA is off today but his text said 'delayed' but he said he would follow up soon.

Closing the factory impacts cars in the lot ready to get sent to port. There's no one to load them on the train or truck or whatever else. So I would just expect that all our cars are delayed. Even the ones with production a month out now have to wait for these cars to finish. At some point, they will catch up but it'll take some time.

Won't those that have started production already have a VIN though that shows them as a 2020 car? I guess for the US market though, even if the year is in the VIN, then it will be well documented that there were no deliveries in MY2020 in the US.

As for still having your Boxster S, enjoy, I traded my car in last July to get the party started...

I would expect Porsche to provide some goodwill gesture if the wait for delivery is extended by a meaningful amount, say 2 months or more. Covid-19 is not their fault nor the customers so people should be able to cancel orders once they find out real delivery dates. I know I'd hate to take delivery in September to basically store the car for 6-7 months.
We can all hope these efforts cause a regression in COVId-19 so we can at least return to some normalcy. Though I am unsure on this magic 2 weeks, I feel it'll be longer.

so dates look to have slipped by about a month give or take, that isn't too bad as long as it holds!
I too must get with the dealer for an update...
