Has anyone who actually ordered and picked up their Spyder with the Smartphone Compartment (SC) been able to confirm that this SC charges your cell phone, or just keeps it at same low level and slowly charges, and do you get a USB plug (or two) if you don't order the SC? Does SC actually boost the cell phone signal? Seems like an expensive $560 option, but is it worth it?
"Smartphone compartment in center console for optimized cellular reception and battery-saving operation. It is the customer’s responsibility to register with their wireless service provider prior to using the signal booster."

Regarding the USB connections, with smartphone compartment (I reserve SC for Sport Chrono

Is is worth it, well now that I have it I would say no, in the Spyder the roof won't really block cell much signal, that raised tray is a pain for larger phones and loosing the AUX audio mean no legacy connection for either phone audio or MP3 player playback. YMMV

What I am not sure of, without Smartphone Compartment does that compartment 'only' have a 12v socket or is there a USB in there as well? The USB connection does give you connectivity to the PCM and charging.
Can somebody with out this option confirm what is in there for connections?

This might be a dumb question, but that's never stopped me before. If there is no USB connection in there is the connection to the PCM for car play wireless? Even my golf has a usb outlet under the stereo to connect and charge.

Not sure about Car Play wireless, IIRC it was not included (yet?), but there is a USB connection in the glove box in front of the passenger for smartphone connections.

I'm not sure either. CarPlay is standard on the GTS, and I was under the assumption I could keep the phone in the compartment and use that feature. I might be wrong about that and it'll have to go in the glovebox if a hard connection is the only option. If you order CarPlay, do you get a usb connection in the console? I understand you get one with this Smartphone compartment.

My SA said power only on the GTS even with CarPlay standard, and no wireless.
