982 GT4 Spyder?

LOL. Well played.
Honestly I have no idea why I'm so personally invested in wanting it to have a NA flat six. I guess because I love mine so much. The issue for me is I just don't think a Spyder will work. Our weather is too unpredictable. I kid you not it can be raining on my driveway and dry as a bone on my back patio. The weather turns on a dime, and being able to control the top with the push of a button, especially while moving, is a godsend.

For months now I've been acting all smug asserting NA was a done deal based on all the comments from Blume, AP, the automotive press, et al., and scoffing at all the turbo believers as being out to lunch, uninformed, and/or simply in denial with their heads in the sand. If this car does turn out to be turbo, and I'm not sure this sound clip is something I would absolutely hang my hat on, then I will have to wipe that smug look from my face, tip my hat to all the turbo believers out there for calling it, and eat a healthy amount of crow. But man, I will do so eagerly, happily, and with gusto!
This is getting good! It's like one of those novels that you can't put down. We're getting close to the final chapters. Settle in for what should be a thrilling conclusion.
Just wondering from some of the veterans here -- guys that have been around here much longer than most of us -- if you guys recall another instance in Porsche's history where the party line coming out of the company indicated in the most certain of terms that they were heading down path A, but what they ended up doing was heading down path B? If this car does turn out to be turbo, are there other examples of this magnitude that come to mind where high level Porsche folks -- guys that should know what they're talking about and are bankable -- either intentionally or unintentionally got things so dead wrong? Just curious if there is precedent. I mean, a turbo 982 Spyder would be as shocking a development as the outcome in our last election, right, given ALL the indications that this car was destined to be NA?

Nothing that I saw or heard tells me turbo or not, but that sure sounds like 4 cylinders thumping away. Subaru-esque. No chance it's a non-turbo flat 4.

Three Wheelin'
Just left my dealer (sold my 911 to them) and played the clip to a GM and a tech - I asked each what do you hear? They both said, not atmospheric and it sounds turbo/ similar to 718 GTS.

We said the 3.0 turbo flat six won't fit, correct?
It didn't sound -exactly- like a flat 4 turbo to me, but I have very little experience with that motor and on top of that, he really wasn't pushing the pedal enough to give much indication either way. Also, one can do a lot with creative exhaust tubing to hide engine note.

Dang that sounds like a turbo. And this sounds like my car
Looks like my Spyder is staying! I predicted the car would most likely be a turbo because of the way the exhausts were placed in the rear...just like the turbo charged 911s. I was hoping I would be wrong but looks like I am not.

They already prepared the grounds and sold the turbo to the GT crowds with the unobtainable, $200k ADM gt2/rs. The rest is history. Stick a fork in NA. For the planet, for the children.

expert comment here after analysing the 'sound' heard on this short video. It will be a
NA 6. So...

PS I do not like crow. And I doubt I'll eat one anytime soon re: this topic. Time will tell.
But if at the end I must, I will take mine with a Béchamel sauce & some petits pois, accompanied
by a fine Grand Cru wine from Alsace. Perhaps this one:

The upcoming 2019 Boxster Spyder will not sport a flat 4 turbo engine, regardless the
