Hard to beat a rev limiter that went all the way up

If you can afford it I would think most discerning auto enthusiasts
would choose a new Boxster over a new Miata. ............

As much as it is romantic to crave for the 9k RPM of the AP1 S2000, AP2 (with measly 8k) handles better; the tranny is more robust. And, a few other improvements as well. Regardless, if you find a clean, unmolested sample (AP1 or 2), grab it! It'll be worth whatever you end up paying!
Agree as well regarding Boxster vs Miata. I've had three Miatas over the years. With it's low limit, you push through the corners, grinning! Yet, I would choose a Boxster, of any vintage, every single time!
GT Bumper makes me think this could be a GT based Spyder. For those of you on the list, I have to imagine your getting pretty excited when seeing these pictures surface. Fingers crossed those aren’t auto fold mirrors though, that’s just unnecessary weight.
Looks like Porsche is launching the duo together! More evidence that the Spyder will be a GT? They have a similar teaser for the GT4 on Instagram (porsche’s Story). There is a rumor for full online debut next week on the 18th.

If you look closely under the spoiler and below the blacked-out P O R S C H E badge you can just make out the outline of the letters G T in that raised area directly above the license plate where the model designation appears to be taped over.

You're "seeing" things, Nick!! The tape's length doesn't seem to match "GT4 Spyder"; probably just "Spyder". Also, one of the protos had the front wing stamped "Spyder", as was the GT4 (with "GT4"). Subsequently, they were taped out. I don't think they will call it "GT4 Spyder"; rather, just "Spyder". Suits just fine. Imminent launch is super exciting! Long time coming!
