Damn, that sounds good! Just looked up the engine specs. Not sure if this is the original engine and exhaust. Pretty sweet!

I wish BMW would make a return to form. Right now their cars are the equivalent of a 10-year-retired pro athlete that's become obese.
If only they'd make a RWD transaxle hardtop two seater. Stick a front-mid I6 in it, oh and some talkative steering.
The other game changer, in the GT price bracket would be if McLaren would finally stick a manual in the 570.

Hah, I that was one of my first thoughts when I drove the 570s! Loved the car but between the low rpm turbo lag and the dual clutch, just felt a little too disconnected from the drivetrain for me. Nothing a stick couldn't fix....

And while power to weight would be the same in your example, overall driver feel in a 2,500lb car is VASTLY different compared to a 3,000lb car. Aside from being more flickable, you can have lighter duty transmission, suspension, brakes, steering, all of which add up exponentially to a better driving experience. It may only be 15% lighter, but it feels closer to 30%.

It'd be great if it had a 3.8 N/A, but it doesn't. It's got an EJ25... I mean a 9A2.

In the beginning of 2018 I sold my 993 C4 build in 1995 with 228.000 kms and a Golf 5 R32 with 47.000 kms. I owned both cars since 2006. Soon my second Porsche, a 991.1 4S PDK 2015 complained about the missing 993 and its new Neighbor, an old Golf TDI 110 which we have kept since 1999, now sleeping in the garage on the other side. I searched for a replacement vehicle with a soft top and finally decided not to purchase anything because no other car made my heard beat faster and I had tried some MX5, F-Type,… Then I stumbled over an announcement in the Internet for a 718 2.0 with plenty of options: PDK, Sport Chono, GT Steering Wheel, PSM, 20” wheels, adjustable Sport Seats, Leather interior, Air cond. 2 zones, DAB, Navigation, Connect + with only 5000 kms and I decided to take a look at the car which I purchased for the catalogue price without options (about 58k€ here in France), but I would not have spent 80k€ for the car with the options. I knew from the beginning that I would not fell in love with the sound (my 991 4S has the sport exhaust PSE option) but I can say that I was really impressed by the performances and on the narrow roads here in the pyrenes and it’s at least as much fun to drive as my 991.1 4S and there is the soft top … a real fun mobile that is not as large as the 991 4S and perfect to drive on the narrow roads in Corsica!
