I went with the SmartTop controller and purchasing through Pelican parts with the PCA discount. I had installed it myself on my '14. Haven't yet installed on my BGTS but hope to do so labor day weekend if weather cooperates as my garage is a bit tight on working space right now.

Curious, why not ventilated seats? I really like mine on a sunny day with the top down. Are you doing PPF on the whole car? The side intakes are the area I missed.

Don't know if anyone answered your question (didn't read past this post yet) but go over to the 718 GTS 4.0/GT4/GT4RS/Spyder/25th Anniversary forum to the
thread on PIWIS 3 Coding Retrofit and Feature Request, and ask 718socal to help you out.

I didn't love the idea of the Smart Top controller choice due to splicing wiring under the driver's seat to install it. So the PIWIS coding change which makes the car like its ROW counterparts was the way to go for me, and many others.

I had that tweak done along with having the temperature gauge to read out accurate temps, and coding the entry and drive sensors I retrofitted to my 2022 BGTS (which were omitted at the factory due to parts shortages). Enjoy your new car--exciting day, I'm sure.

I'm glad to hear you say that. I still hope to try the 2-way seats in person before finalizing my build but I like their weight savings; the cost factor is just a bonus. As the only driver, memory features are inconsequential so it all comes down to fit and comfort. Happy they worked out for you

Ive just never liked them that much. They never seem to do anything for me even on super hot and sunny days. I've had cars with them and either i forget about them or just never use them cuz it doesnt seem like it does anything. But i also really wanted Alcantara seat centers. Its more comfortable than leather to me and i find it helps with holding me in place when i want to do some spirited driving.

I am PPFing the entire car.

I saw that but i have the new PCM that doesnt have the CD player and last i checked, there is no way to code that one just yet. I thought there was a way to do it without coding it, but if thats the solution then i'll wait till coding is figured out.

Coding is independent of the PCM version. You just cannot add NAV to your car yet. Find someone local with PIWIS and code your keyfob to open/close the top.

Funny that the configurator still lists the CD/DVD player as standard equipment as of right now. When was it dropped? '23 or '24? Just curious.

The top control has nothing to do with the PCM. You may be confusing the Navigation hack with PIWIS coding of options. I haven't seen anything that suggests the top control with the key fob cannot be done on cars with the PCM.

Edit: Whoops, saw that 718socal responded too. BTW he remote coded mine, and I'm in TX, he's in CA.

My understanding is that the coding cannot still get you top up and top down control via the key. Is it possible to recode and have key control of putting top up as well as down? Is it also possible to recode to get to one-press of the interior control for putting top up or down? Forgot how much I had gotten used to one-touch in my 981 until I've had my BGTS for a few weeks now.

Also, the SmartTop was really not much at all to install in my 981. Had it for over 10 years before selling it a few months back and no issues at all.
