The TLX fits fine. I wanted the flexibility to lift various cars, including my Evo, so the extended model was a must for me. If you position it properly there are zero issues; at worst the front tires will contact the frame as it comes up, but it's not dramatic - and that's avoidable if you move the frames back a touch.
I agree the 7000 is overkill FWIW, even for the Macan. The 5000 are 85lb or so per ramp so they're non-zero effort to move around (I have mine vertically wall mounted and lift them off then roll into place). I'm assuming the 7000 are heavier. My other points to know:
-If yours will live on the floor, you can install small spherical wheels underneath to make it easy to roll them around while flat on the ground - however the clearance to the 718 lift points, depending on your ride height, will be minimal at that point: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k0DQoEQrHmk
-I put a jack stand underneath each frame just for backup, but I've had no issues at all with operating the QJs and am quite happy with them
wait, so are you saying the 5000-TLX fits the 718 when others said the 5000-TL barely fits the 718
So, the main concern here is the weight of the 7000TL versus the 5000TL? I was thinking of getting the former as a sort of future proofing.
The 7000 are heavy but NOT that big a deal to maneuver around on the floor... If you think for a second you may ever want to life an SUV or light duty truck, get the 7000's.
I use to 7000 TL from Costco on my GTS 4.0. Fits perfectly and very easy to use with the smallest included blocks. FYI, I have jack point pucks that unfortunately cannot be used with the Quickjack due to lack of clearance with the included smallest block.
I’ve fit Spyders and GT4s in there too, which have very little clearance. Use the lower lift blocks included. No need for “adapters”
You made the same mistake I made when I got my QJ's. The Sticker side should be towards the motor side of the vehicle. Not as bad on a mid-engine car but I'd still flip them around for safety sake.
My 911 was teetering a bit when I lifted it with the "Sticker" side of the QJ towards the front.

****! Good to know… I have my 992.2 on order and the first thing I was going to do was coat my wheels…. Or apparently throw a 0 Km 992.2 into the my wall

LOL
Yeah, I don’t know why I didn’t think about it when I was setting mine up. With the way it lifts you definitely want the bulk of the weight coming up from the middle of the Jack instead of the very end. It was surprisingly stable once I got it up there because I did a whole video changing my wheels with it like that, and then realized through some comments that I had it backwards. Glad I did not have a, big failure. !!!
This was the video I made you can skip through all the detailed set up stuff.
What are the best prices on these people are seeing these days?
Not sure your link goes to an ad but I bought mine at Costco around Christmas... I got the 7000TL bundle (has SUV / light truck stuff with it) for I think $1700.00...
Would you need to get the bundle to have the necessary block accessories for the 718’s?
Sorry for the dumb question.. the differences between the packages are rather vague within the online descriptions.
