Side Intake Scoop Swap
For some reason, I prefer the 6 cylinder side intakes as compared to my 4 cylinder ones. I'd like to swap them out. Has anyone tried doing this? Is there some air flow reason for the turbo version because of the intercooler? Looks like they should be interchangeable. Cheers

Is there a technical reason why it looks one way for a NA engine and a different way for a turbo engine?

I did it
I like the single slat design as well. Was an easy swap

Thanks
What were the part numbers? did you get them from porsche?
I'm a little worried about wearing out or damaging the fender mounting holes
It looks so much cleaner. I suspect this will become very common

There is a few videos on YouTube on how to safely remove them, I ordered them from Suncoast parts as opposed to the local parts department. The price was nearly the same and didn't require me to source part numbers. Once you free three clips using a trim tool you will literally grab the slats and yank. No signs of wearing btw, these cars are solid

Ok, so I bought the grilles. I'm just waiting for things to warm up (I'm in toronto) before I install
There seem to be two ways to remove these things
https://www.planet-9.com/threads/rem...-vents.104314/
This shows you pull it out from the back and to the front to remove the rear clips. According to the 981 service manual, you rotate it to the front to get it out
On the internet for 718, everyone uses a plastic pry tool to pop out the front clips and rotate it backward.
I'm confused. The plant-9 thread shows that the clips and tabs of the 982 vents and the new 718 vents I bought are the same.
